Karen, you are such a lovely lady. My heart goes out to you. As you say, and as I have said, life is too short. It's times like this when we should all show what true friends we all are, this is the BEST family ever.

My goodness!  I've had so little time to visit that I was unaware of the broken fences.  I came to POE and stayed because I so very much enjoy looking at the photos of beautiful Britain.  I also enjoy chatting with some very nice people, but I try to keep my nose clean.  I really only want to be able to login to POE and enjoy the view.  I hope we can return to the days of focusing on posting and sharing our photos of England and thereabouts.

To bad some of you could't  post some"English"Christmas pictures then, how do you celebrate it and where do you go to for doing things and seeing the Christmas sites? Wish I was really good at taking pictures, you'd love my wayofdoing thngs with my "Le Max" Christmas Viilage all around my bed, which takes on an "sleigh" look this timeofthe year. The guys dressing up an merchant outside the "Farmer's Market" in an Santa suit, next to an log cabin with kids playing in snow,,and to the other side, people outside an tea shop and an hotelnear an gazebo awaiting for the horse and carriage and stage coach to appear,in it already gaily happy people singing songs as they do down the road, headed into town, and before they get there, they run into an camp ground and kids and skiers, with an pond and deer amoung trees and next to it, the stables, with an man helping his daughter up for an ride, and an man an little boy helping to feed the baby lambs, and beside it an bakery shop, where you can look into and see the goodies, and an lady out front sharing cookies with two liitle kids, and next to it a Santa with an little girl on his lap in front of an Gift  shop, you can see inside it also through the window, and next to that the church with an choir outside singing ..and I still have the batteries for the community tree (multi-colored fiber optics) ... still have to find my red embossed golden comforter for the bed as yet..maybe I should go do that one now. slip in an "Celtic" Cd of Christmas songs and I'll be thinking of you all. I have been years now collecting this village. It started with the church, because when I was an little girl I was given an "Bible" at Sunday School in 1956, that has the very same picture as the stained glass picture in the church, of Jesus holding an baby lamb in his arms. I just looked up the date, 10/21/56...the bible is so old it'sstarting to fall to pieces now, so I don't mess with it to much these days, I can get anything I need in religion or the bible "on-line"now. They have an "fire" in the fireplace tonight and it's so warm in here, I can hardly stand it. Whew, sweat bath time. I went to school with an Bill Shoemaker long time ago, but not in England.

I have not signed on to POE since the early summer due to various circumstances - not that I am a chatty person anyway, I did enjoy it.  I enjoyed trying to keep up with some of the posts since it was like listening to friends and family chat.  Imagine my surprise when I haven't logged on in about 3 months to read about all the discord and broken fences.  Now I realize it is none of my business, I don't know what went on but I have learned the last few months that LIFE IS TOO SHORT.

I have been diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer.  It is in my bones, lymph nodes and I have a lesion on my scalp.  My prognosis is maybe 5-8 years.   I guess that isn't bad compared to some cancers, but I realize I am not ready to go.  I need to see my son gorw up  and finish school, spend more time with my husband and son, friends and family and less time working (I wish).   In my personal life I am putting aside conflict that I had with one of my brothers and I trying to encourage the rest of my family to do the same.  We are after all family and nothing comes before family.   Hopefully with faith, prayer and support from my family and friends I can extend the length of time I have left.

This has opened my eyes to how short and unexpected life can be.  Everyone here at POE is like an extended family and you need to try and get over the hurt feelings and animosity.  We are all adults and can rise above it and put the past behind you and get back to being the family that I enjoy keeping tabs on.

Karen, my heart goes out to you! I hardly know what to say. You are so brave, though I know you must not feel it right now.

Draw close to those who love you and let your heart be open to receiving as much love as it can hold. When if feels full, let it flow out of you and into the lives of those around you. You are a dear lady and reading about your prognosis puts everything else into perspective. You are right, life is too short, even if we live to be 100.

My prayers are with you dear Karen.

Karren I am so sorry to hear of your illness. My heartfelt sympathy and good wishes go out to you. All I can say is, think positive and like a lot of others you may be able to beat it. If everyone of us send our wishes maybe, just maybe,it can be beaten. No, that is wrong. It WILL be BEATEN.
