Malvina Dean ( Elizabeth Gladys Dean) on May 31st; last survivor on the Titanic; 1912--2009, in Ashurst in the New Forest, near Southampton, aged 97.

Such a sad day for all of us. Now all memories of the voyage will be gone for forever.  She seemed to be such a sweet lady. Thank goodness she is now in a place of peace with the love of those that have gone before her.

I'm sad to hear that Comedian Danny La Rue has passed away.

I think he lived a happy and successful life, which is always a blessing.

Was only thinking of him the other day Sue, and telling some people about him, as he once owned a hotel where I was doing a wedding; he was 81 and now lived in Kent. I never knew he was Irish though, being born in Cork.

Wasn't it the Swan Hotel? I remember it was close to Oxford and we used to pass it on occasion.

Actor Terrence Alexander ( 1923-2009 ) best remembered for his role as millionaire tax-exile Charlie Hungerford in the TV series Bergerac starring John Nettles. The Jersey-based crime series first aired in 1981 and ran for a decade, and shown in 35 countries.  Mr. Alexander appeared in every episode; latterly he suffered from Parkinsons Disease.
