Fixed speed cameras and mobile speed cameras are NOT controlled by the police, it was reported in the papers recently that the director in charge of the company that run this service for the government had himself got caught speeding by a camera on the motorway doing 102 mph I believe and got banned . When the cameras where first introduced the police controlled the paper work on behalf of the local councils, this has now been fully taken over by a private company controlled by the government. I can understand your frustration Jason and I agree it is a waste of time and money but all emergency services are treated the same and have to justify why they broke the speed limit, which like you say takes up time and money. |

I just been talking to people at my station and everyone seemed to think it was from the police. They are notice of intent to procecute forms we get. I believe what your saying Lyn ... just seems crazy we all go round charging each other for no reason!! |

I think most people still believe that it’s all done by the police Jason me included until I watched a TV programme on it, oh and the fact my old man told me after I was having a go at him about speed cameras lol the NIP forms are just computer generated forms sent out by the camera company on behalf of our dear government. The secret is to go through at really high speed, can’t remember exactly what the speed is but it’s to fast for the camera to pick up and the photo is just a blur, not that I would recommend this LOL |
