It was Jerry Keller. I remember this because, as a mere youth I went to my local record store here and paid 6/4d for it! B side is "My Heart Knows". Still got it in an old box. He came over to England in 1960. He toured he at that time with a guy who had a hit in the charts with "My Heart" Anyone remember who he was?

Can't remember 'My Heart' either Rod but I do remember 6/4d (Six shillings and four pence). This is when there were 240 pennies to the pound, and a pint of beer was 1/8d....pre decimal! Those were the days...

So....'My Heart' Rod?

It was Gene Vincent Ron. As for bartering, James, I did swap the odd record with my school chums. Well, I was only on 5/- a week pocket money in 1961!

'only 5 shillings a week pocket money', in 61 Rod. Wow that was a fortune. I left school in 1964 at the age of 15 to start as a seven year apprentice engineer. during my full working week I had  a full day off plus 2 evenings each week to attend college as part of my apprenticeship. My weekly take home pay was £2.10 shillings per week, I gave my mother 10 shillings as payment for my board and lodgings and kept the remaining £2. as spending for myself. This had to pay my bus fares to and from work/college, and also my daily 'lunch breaks'. It would also have to cover taking myself and my my girlfriend to the pictures on Saturday nights lol.
