I bought an album of his after watching a television programme here about the American rail roads which featured his haunting version of City Of New Orleans. Alice's Restaurant was on this. Don't know who did "Hello In There". |

Don't you know me, I'm your native son....great song that. Hello In There is from an American folk singer, somewhat in the same vein as Arlo and Woody Guthrie. I'll leave it up another day to see if anybody else gets it. It's another haunting song, about growing old.

By coincidence, we were at The Lowry on the Salford Quays only last Monday, viewing the artist's work. Well worth seeing, plus the film there about his life which lasts about twenty minutes. I had to google it, and still didn't recognize the names. I remember the song well, an annoying tune. I believe the music video was well done though. |

I think they were a one hit wonder. Who sang 'Build me up Buttercup'? Edited by: Sue at:25th September 2010 21:55 |
