Go Compare! Is there another advertisement on television that p....s you off so completely other than this? When it comes on, we switch channels for a few minutes, so it does the company no good whatsoever. Further, if I wanted any kind of insurance the last company that I would go to is this, it is so b....y boring!

You might say that because I have started a thread about it that they have won, I don't think so. I will NEVER go to THAT company for insurance!

You heard it here on POE first! POE'rs tell the truth...

Ha ha.. you're so right Ron, it is bl**dy irritating.  Also, why do these advertising execs always have to insult us with such childish drivel? I feel sure that a "tell it like it is", truthful and to the point ad,  would surely work  wonders......   Simples! Laughing

Advertisers need to learn to talk TO us and not AT us. If they pay big money to advertise, they should be well aware of the audience they are seeking to address. I doubt seriously that the audience they are expecting to address are as unknowing as the audience they ACT like we are. Has it gotten to the point that advertising agencies truly believe they are mentally above the audience they are reaching ? LOL...it may be long overdue for a shift in the program. How would they handle a campaign AGAINST all advertisers. Hmmm....I could be wrong....just my thought on this topic....I have never believed in adverts that treat the general public like idiots.

I hate the Go compare thing too Ron - the tune sticks in your head - and you have done that to me now!

My boys love the Meerkat one - and the 118247 one!

I hate the 118 men - they look like my "favourite" neighbour!

Yep gotta agree, terrible adverts!! like you, makes me not want to use them!!

the other adverts that annoy me are the ...'this child will die unless you give us £5 per month!'   'the polar bears will get it if you don't give us £3 per month'   'poor African children will starve to death .. give us £5 per month'   and it goes on and on!!!  all the time!! what difference do they really make? how much money do the ads cost, how much extra do they get for them? and what does it get spent on!!?  i do give to charities, but them adverts just depress the nation .. and to be honest i don't think they acheive what they set out to!!

I totally agree, charity should begin at home...... Erm, did I mention how hard things are right now?  Perhaps just a fiver from each POE member might just smooth things out a little.... Wink
