A Bombay Oyster is half a glass of vinegar with a raw egg dropped in ift and drink it down, my brother used to do it as it is supposed to be very healthy, (that was in the days before salmonella)

I think I would rather have salmonella.

Me too, Peter!!

Apparently we all eat at least eight spiders throughout our life whether it be whilst we are asleep, or just love spiders in a salad for example!  Lol

Went to an "Wine Festival" at the coast one time (Pacific Ocean) and had an appetizer made out of smoked shark meat...it was different, had the smoke taste of chicken kind of ...but was tough like perhaps "tongue" would be. Wine suited it well. It's not something I would look forward to at every appetizer though.

All I can say is gross, gross, gross, you lot. Yell lol  Especially that concoction of yours, Peggy.  Yuk!

I have eaten rattlesnake and mountain lion, and we are having a meeting at work next week and one of my coworkers is bringing alligator.  He said it tastes like lobster.

Now that sounds like a rare treat Ruth!!!

I have had crocodile, impala liver, ostrich and a speciality is mopane worms (which I haven't yet managed to work up any enthusiasm for!) sounds like something from "Survivor", will stick to meat and 2 veg I think!

When we were young my Grandfather would have Hare & Pheasant hanging in the wash house until they had maggots - then they were ready to cook!!! That was supposed to be a Christmas special!

I think the things people have to eat on "I'm a celebrity, get me out of here" are disgusting, I would not do that for any amount of money. also Cathyml and Ruth, how could you? YUK, I'm a vegetarian which makes it seem even worse, give me a peanutt butter and jam sandwich any day.

When I was growing up on the east side of Detroit, there were many families of Belgian descent in the surrounding neighborhoods. Instead of eating beef, they favoured horsemeat, which they could get at several meat markets in Detroit. Consequently, I ate horsemeat on a couple of occasions at friends' homes and I have to say that I liked it very much--leaner and sweeter than beef.
