And TV goers as well James, having watched all those old TV westerns of the 50s and 60s as a kid. And how many big stars started their career in westerns, before moving on to bigger things? I didn't see Charles Bronson in the slide show, but usually in the background playing Indians, under his name Charles Bunchinski.

I used to like the bad guys----Claude Akins and Bruce Dern made regular appearances against the TV heroes.   Saw Gene Autry at the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo one year. Both him and his horse seemed to be diamond studded when the spot lights hit them in the Penrose stadium; not far from where Jimmy Stewart's mother lived at The Broadmoor area. Roy Rodger's side kick Pat Brady was buried not far away several years later.

My Dad also appeared on The Dinah Shore TV show with Richard Boone; Paladin of Have Gun, Will Travel.

As you like the swing-era James, how about joining this with famous cowboys thus----which famous TV cowboy to be, replaced Frank Sinatra in the Tommy Dorsey band? Clue---his dad was the sheriff of Las Animas, Colo. where he grew up and later became one of the Sons Of The Pioneers group.

Friends of mine in Missouri seem pretty proud of their state's connection to Jessie and Frank James, Shaun. Another friend of mine in school was the great nephew of Ben Kilpatrick, aka The Tall Texan, who rode with Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid.   In the famous photo of these two, he's sat between them in the photo here......
