That's a diversity of occupations Peggy!  What made them favourites?

I had to wait until mid age to get a job I really wanted instead of from necessity, and I am doing it now - teaching art to adult woment who have never had the chance to paint before.  What a pleasure to see the thrill on their faces when they have achieved something they never thought they could, and how wonderful when there work is admired by their family and friends.  Yes its a great job.

The best working years of my life was as a Lodon Transport Underground Train Driver. I did that for 24 years. The only drawback was getting up early to bring in the first train in the morning. Had to be in the depot at 4am. Lol

When I was 15 I worked with my mom at a campground for the summer. That was the best job ever! I'd work during the day then hang out with all my new friends for the night doing campgroundy things!! The owners had a horse to so I would ride her thru the grounds everyday. Perfect summer job!!

In high school in the late '60's, I worked as a part-time janitor in a small office building, but my favorite job at that time was working for two years as a chauffeur for a socially active woman in Grosse Pointe Farms, a very wealthy suburb of Detroit. I got to visit a large number of the mansions in the area and was able to really get a look at both the "upstairs and downstairs" segments of life in that rarified atmosphere, since I spent time both with her wealthy peers and with the "help!" Totally fascinating!

While at university in the early '70's, I worked 48-60 hours per week for two summers as a welder at Chrysler Motors, a very gritty, monotonous, and sometimes dangerous job that paid a fabulous wage, which covered all of my university expenses for the following academic year!

I have to say, though, that my all-time favorite job is the one I have now as an academic faculty reference librarian and bibliographer. For the past 31 years, this position has afforded me continuous intellectual stimulation, great discretionary autonomy, financial and intellectual resources for my research and the opportunity to help others refine their own research strategies. I have been very fortunate to have a job that I have truly loved!

My favourite job is what I do now, working with my Podiatrist. I love the people I work with, I love my patients (well, the Dr's patients really, but I think of them as my own), I wish it were more than just once a week.

I also loved working at the OB/GYN clinic many years ago, though I was there (almost every day) as a volunteer and not a paid employee. It was so much fun, and so very interesting.

I guess I really love the human body, as those two are by far my most favourite jobs.
