Please do not drink and drive. Be safe so you can enjoy what life has to offer you this coming New Year! Cathy, the only woman I know that is not doing housework is my Mum. She is going to be 76 in March and she just does not have the stamina to do it anymore. BUT, she does do cooking, laundry, errands and things for others! So I would say she is only semi-retired!! No woman ever gets to fully retire until they end up in a nursing home! James, love that avatar. Can't wait to see what you come up with next!! |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 20:26 on 1st January 2011 Hi there Shaun...I've been watching the Pasadena Rose Bowl this morning from the New Year Celebrations of last night. I talked about that earlier in the New's Year's thread....after my household full left..hubby and I took down the Christmas tree..he made me sit down after I broke an glass ornament, but I had to tell him the cat was two more ahead of me trying to help decorate the tree to begin with. My cat was sitting beside them with an innocent look on his kitty cat face I give him kind pets knowing he was trying to help......But together we got that huge tree out the door naked finally and its off this monring to the Scout tree re-cycle. I'm working on clearing out the last of the decorations in boxes and containers until next year. I see my text size just changed twice on me just now by itself....but anyway...while hubby spends today and tomarrow at the Scout re-cycle...I'll be cooking dinner and the kids dropped off their huge dogs here last night just in case they stayed overnight with their friend's at thier house. Give me some time an should be into painting the walls later on..for the new year ahead. It just helps after the Holidays in getting things cleaned up also...something I've been doing for years now. I must go..as soomeone does not want me talking to you...they just tried to take my posting....hum. You know Wilson's are kin to me over here...they married the Chenoweth family...preacher's. An very well known and old family. Chenoweth is ole gaelic for "Path Sweeper"...or those who use to not only sweep the path in many ancient rituals.. but also give vesper's ahead of the priest. Have an good year ahead...my sister gave me an Irish Belek "Black Tower" stamped candlestick one year many ago for Christmas...she told me the lady of the shop helped her pick it out as she felt it an significanct peice over the many others she carried in her shop to own in years ahead. |
Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 20:42 on 1st January 2011 We were not able to save and own any of the wonderful collection of my great aunt's Irish Belek cups... after she passed on...I have no idea who ended up with them....they really ripped her off after she died in Caifiornia before any of the family was notified..she had an stroke while going down the road...and I can imagine the Eastern Star most likely investigated legally some of the thefts...as much of it was also thier "property" particualry the true gems (ring) in holding her office of Grand Worthy Matron for them many years... very sad times. Afterward "Pat" sent me as many of the family portraits and my great aunt's legacy papers for the DAR (Daughter of American Revolution) she was trying to join and the subject of her wanting me to help her with also. So my candlestick is an refelction of her also...and the "Black Tower" is one of Protection for us all. One of God's commandments is "thou shall not Steal"....people need to get back to doing so. |
