For one thing I don't have the time, but I honestly cannot navigate these sites and I struggle to see how the kids manage! You can only use 140 characters and you follow people and converse that way. You can follow anyone of interest...celebrities, charities, TV shows, news shows or the everyday person. I have about 750 followers but I don't talk to half of them. I have met a handful of really good friends there! It's fun!! My favourite: Pictures \| Towns \| Attractions
