I hate country music. There's a group I detest, but I have blanked them from my mind, along with all their songs, so I can't name them. I also dislike Supertramp. |

I think the reason that we like it so much is that our whole family saw it together in the theatre and had such a good time. Also, just after seeing Love Actually, my wife, my daughter and I flew to England and stayed for a couple of weeks. We arrived the day after Christmas in 2003 with the film still fresh on our minds. Of course, Shirley and Leah had to make a trip into London to go to the Harrod's after-Christmas sales, so that made us think of the Alan Rickman and Rowan Atkinson exchange at the jewelry counter! Also, the towns we stayed in and visited still had all their Christmas lights up, so that brought back memories of the film. Another film that I associate with that trip is Lord of the Rings: Return of the King, which we went to see on New Years Day, 2004, in Great Malvern, Worcestershire. The photos below help to convey why this town was such a great place to see that movie!

At the time, we were staying at Ivy Cottage in nearby Ledbury (on the right)--it was very charming and "creak-y." Here are two of my photos of the place, one looking up Church Lane to the church and the other looking down the lane:
