James!! I am a big fan of big band music!! Thanks to my dad for playing it for me when I was a kid. I think I was the only 8 year old that knew who Artie Shaw was! lol!

i was brought up wit it since 1953 --54 i played for a while and it was the biggest mistake i ever made when i packed it in.

i have them all on cd now and play them all day and night i must have 20 artie shaw plus harry james ,benny goodman the list goes on --have you tried artie shaw on "you tube"well worth a look krissy --are you sure you are only 41Laughing, mind you i was 10 --11 when i first appreciated themSmile

i see that nowLaughingbut didnt like annoying krissy by not answeringCry

I do find my taste in music changing. I like it. It's nice to discover that you like something that you didn't like before. For most of my life I hated country music, but now I enjoy the new pop-country that popular. Artists like Tim McGraw, Kenny Chesney, and Carrie Underwood.

Having said that, I still can not abide the old country stuff like my mother used to listen to. Loretta Lyn, Roy Clark etc.


And I'm the exact opposite with the country stuff, Diana.  I don't like all the modern "country pop" but I love the old stuff - the twangier the better.  lol
