I went out for a nice long walk (9 miles!) just to be out in the sunshine it's so beautiful here today. We're just starting to see little buds on the trees and crocuses (spelling?) sticking up from the ground. :-) I hope you are well?

I took Denzil for a hike this morning in one of the mountain parks. It was simply gorgeous and we saw a ton of birds and wildlife. It wasn't 9 miles, but a lot of it was uphill!

We have in my nieghborhood yellow dafodils, pink trees, white trees, blue primroses, tulips, and red and purple azealas, camilas of all colors... either blooming or about to pop open in bloom. Add an sunny day and it makes for an lovely walk tis true. My new little kitty she played so provociatvely with her little catnip mouse, my male cat decided to take it away from her... and boy did she scream at him!...he's not use to it...he shrunk back an I had to soothe his feelings an bit...kid of like "What did I do?". But they are finally getting around to some companionship in an ways. He's been use to watching over my elderly sick cat for an good share of his youth. He was quite the "guard cat" to my pervious female cat. I know she could not defend herself outside by herself and he was always near by to help her. Oh, I should be grocery shopping for this weekend and not in the mood really to do so. Hubby has "Scout Capades" for this weekend, I asked my grand-daughter over also..as we had the boys last weekend..helping with the painting...and it looks like one night this weekend also. I may be in trouble here soon..as I see there's an T-Square coming up for my daughter in-law(Astrologically)...it says there's an Mars(anger) in her Saturn (work routine) in Aries (her Sun sign)...she's feeling pretty "spent" as it is with her responsibilties to everyone and everything. I can help her...but her education is for the next two years..I can't raise her kids and clean her house for her and get some of the things done around here that need done from last year...that's what the docotor said got me into bad health...I wasn't taking care of myself and what I needed to be doing because of others. I hope we can "balance" out an bit with the "give an take" situation of life...it is not that I don't understand...i've had plenty to deal with on my shoulders in the past also...and somedays...still do. They claim April 19th is going to be the pits of all days again...much like Japan's supermoon days last month.....for someone somewhere..batten down your hatches everyone! Then comes Easter...... I go for now..as there's always pelnty to do these days. Make your day an good one. What's everyone reading these days also???Anything excitiing.... or new? |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 19:56 on 15th April 2011 Hello everyone....we had four small earthquakes yesterday in Portland..2.2, 1.2, 1.7, and 2.1....0 to 2 miles depth.. they were most likley "Man made" as they have an lot of construction going on right now in the area. They followed the Willamette River in two areas. They are making an water front "road" higher behind the river front parks and condo's to help keep out the city noise in the parks and to help keep out flooding of the River when it's swollen up with water in flood years...keep it out of downtown Portland....last I heard it was taking two years to build the road and would be 15 feet high. Other news is sad...mostly about child abuse or illegal drugs...it see's it see's two children killed from an fire...and third one...and baby with burns...as is the mother....and single father with two autisitic children found and his 7 year old and 5 year old found in dirty diapers with feces locked in their room with no toys and primarily "empty" while thie father worked an part time job...niether have ever learned to "speak"...they hauled the mother in on this also. He was living in Vancouver....and the third is the drug situation in Molllala Oregon of Heroine amoung three sales, one to an 17 year old and one Milwaukee High School student died last week about the same age from the same thing. Maybe an follow up on it? The mother an baby with the burns was on Medical Marijuana....all of them were lving in filty house conditions...and on state subsitence of some kind. It is perhaps an "sign of the times" these days....though I had an friend and she always said...filthiness is no excuse in poverty. Anyway...the cops caught the heroin drug dealer...the autism society is going to work with the children of the father...the mother says shethought he was taking good care of the kids, she was payig him child support...she'll probablly be bought into this more..and so will the state in thier education...and the mother with the burns is being taken off medical marijuana and learning an new kind of pain relief for her physical spinal disabilty....her other two young boys died of smoke inhalation..so she'll be burying them. My guess is she'll be startng over again from scratch because of this fire. In the meantime....City Hall is discussing "chickens"...and about to pass legislation on what sized cages and the roaming area they get to have while growing up and laying eggs in confined pens. How's that for an "Easter" story this year. Be good to your little red hen or get fined by city hall. I have at least two of the three grandkids this weekend that I know of....for at least one over-nighter. One goes to scout-capades...and maybe my grandaughter and I will go out for lunch or something. So I best get going for now...I'm sure I'll be busy. |
