Might take them to see the new movie out tonight..."Puss and Boots" tomarow..depends on how the time goes...spin off from the movie Shreik. I asked one grandson what he'd like for Christmas and he mentioned an game I've never heard of or seen so far. I knew it wasn't going to be easy. My youngest one gets presented with an award in school this Monday for his envolment in an jog- a- thon. His mother is going to cut one of her college classes to attend it for the day I guess. Wonder if my son gets back Saturday if they will give him Monday off or not. They do that sometimes if they are on the road for an week at an time. He generally drives huge equiptment jobs ....reason why an pilot car in front and one in back of him. Car just came around the corner and I looked out to see the rain coming down sideways looking in the car lights.... to think Holloween is but an couple days away. Won't be many trick or treaters out in this stuff for long. Catch you all later on.... |

But a ton of stuff to do around the house. Tomorrow I'm got to go get a haircut. Actually, I think I'll get them all cut. Church picnic on Sunday, but it's supposed to be cool - only in the 60s F.

Tomorrow Husband at Football, so a boring day for me, and the weather doesn't look good either And Sunday gets no better, am obliged to go to a "do" , can't think of a valid believable excuse for not going.......hopefully there will be enough people there so they won't see me creep away. There is always the Vodka!!!

Put all the cookies togther to share with the name of the cookie and an written small file card of the receipe to share...make copier cards and as many of them as you need off your computer. Then pick an simple craft to teach them to give them someting to do and share as they enjoy the the tea and cookies....like making handkerchief angels, or one year we had an husband teach us gals how to make an simple macreme plant-hanger....there's painting already fired ceramic christmas ornaments also..just anything that's not to expensive. Maybe an $1 or two to make it. For free... if you can get your hands on live greenery for next to nothing from someone's yard or an forrest setting. Here we can buy boxes ($3.00) of used candles at the local thirft shop...fancy them up with pearl ended straight pins for something fancy...put them on an underbase of live evergreen branches. You can think of something to do to " break the silence" amoung the group. It's that time of the year for doing such things. |

I bought my novel at the Goodwill for $4.98...an rarity no doubt. I like thier stickers with the price on them..it reads...Your purchase changes lives.....Goodwill Books.Com. Not exactly "Amazon"... but I'm for helping them out an bit. Tell me if you like it...I have all kinds of his books...I can also suggest others. I got an book this time around on the history of Scotland...nice thick book....author was the chairman of the Ancient Monuments Board for Scotland and of Scottish National Heritage, and has been awarded the Medicott Medal of the British Historical Association....Magnus Magnusson. The Scolastic series of "Dear America"...I picked up one called Sarah Nita...The gril who chased away sorrow"...she was an little Navajo Girl...apparently taken away from her parents, as so many were to be educated in boarding schools....only in this case they were taken to Fort Sumner...it's an fictional book with an historical background of research work done to write it apparently. Then I got an cookbook...called "Holidays"... A year of multicultural Holiday feasts...vegetarian style. And finally an Better Homes and garden " Christmas.. from the heart"...craft and gift book....none of them were over $4.98 and an couple of them much lower...but I enjoy reading them...and I've been known to mail them off also. I like cookbooks with big colorful pictures, cause I use them to decorate with through-out the year also. I always find good bargains for some reason when an old class mate of mine shows up.. as she works for the Goodwill..... and they hire an lot of "seniors" you know. She use to live down the street from me growing up. |

I would love to be in England right now, taking a weekend drive with my best friend and her husband, around the little villages in the Oxford area. Camera in hand of course. Oh well! Guess I'll be cleaning and doing laundry and thinking about my trip to England coming up in May. What wonderful things do you have planned for your weekend? |
