Well, it's 99 degrees here in Portland right now...my high tech thermometer says it's 84 degrees downstairs, only the celing fan running....3:30 pm here shortly Everyone is doing just fine...hope so are the kids...they do have an wind out there today. Watching the Olympics..looking froward to some pizza later on...the fella won Britian's first ever 100mm track run was just so " estatic"...he was hugging everyone he came across....and the Men's Volleyball game against the Russian's was an real toughy for the USA...they did it by one point on the second game. It was indeed some very fine playing by both teams. Hubby just went out an moved the car under our huge Oak tree out front. Been working on the kiddie pool all day..it's really warm right now. Should be bathtub warm by tonight...I put an spare patio umberella over my Susan B. Kommen pink geraniums so they would not get burnt to an crisp today also....have had them for several years and add another each year also. Neighbor...the car salesman.. just made it home from work.  Chicago is getting severe Thunderstoms also...probably the one they thought we'd be having, though they changed the weather report to clear skies and 67 degrees tonight...this is the weather you sleep out on the porch or veranda......Looking forword to it cooling down a bit also.

So James got himself another computer... and Rick is dropping in for an short howdy. James, I watched this morning an show called "Tasting England"...from the Barlow countryside manor...in-law's to my mother's side(Devon)...they had an traditional Roast Lamb dinner and used an very unsual stove...I think it was woodstove maybe...but it had two round domes on top of it that closed down over like an hot plate round piece of inserted cast iron....then they took us to London for an meal at Punja Restruant...they cooked different also...they cooked some pita's by placing the dough on the inside along one wall of the heating kettle they had, in the center of it was meat on long skewers they were roasting....and finally to the Blue Lion, north of London..for an Roast Beef dinner. Everyone was drinking an glass of wine in the last resturant and indeed even I use to do that with an nice Steak Dinner...before the medications that say I'm not suppose to drink alcohol. Most unsual cooking devices for ovens and stoves I've ever seen though...and I've been around the old time cookstoves also. Carry on Cathrynml...let you to your chat.

I think congratulations to TEAM GB in total Ron, 6 Gold I think Saturday and an unprecedented 3 of them on the track where only 3 where available. Whoever creates the honours lists is gonna have an extremely diccifult job. And what about the girls in the cycling 3000 mt pursuit ..... 6 rides, broke their own world record on every ride and demolished the Americans in the final to take Gold, quite an acheivement I think you will agree

I tell you today's Olympics was well worth watching...they had some really good competitions going on.  We are barely holding our lead in Gold metals next to China...I think they are only three behind us now.  Those scores move pretty fast also. Are you trying to tell me that Lord Astar didnt' show up?....he usually don't unless someone needs his help desparately. But I read that article and it sounded to me like someone talking for him...and I've never known that to happen in the past. So now where will "Terra" go as to her thinking of their being UFO's? Maybe she can understand the so called "Phoneix Lights" episode year's ago..now there's an whole town that watched an mile long V-shaped something hovering overhead not to far, going past them. Mayor tried to make an joke out of it and didn't get very far...you can't tell thousands of people that they didn't see what they were reporting that night. As far as I understand Lord Astar is an channeled entity also...so he lives in an different dimension I think then earth beings. In short he works through physical others ?...I think...not even I understand all about them. I can not though think of anything related to him though that wasn' t helpful to mankind...and general good.    Yes, congradulations GB...you made an fine showing today....challenged some new records for the Olympics.

Oh, and it got to 102 degrees today here...an quick rising and real scorcher for the day..hope it won't be so hot tomarrow...as I wouldn't really miss the excessive heat...but you know...it might of broken the drought in the midwest today. Yep...just maybe. Air current patterns. Line of severe thunderstorms went through Chicago and parts southward and through Missouri on it's way back east with heavy rain in the following. They needed it desparetly I understand. It reminded me of being back east when I was an little girl....and those nightly rain/thunderstorms.. to end an hot day.

That's nice...well, they didn't bring back our boat, we took the grandson out to them though. Turning cloudy out and they say with "spotty" thundershowers in some areas...everyone is sweating up an storm here tonight...cats took today rather badly and slept through most of  the heat either on the wood floor in the dining area or in front of an fan on the floor. It was hot last night also...so it never cooled down that much for having the house opened up. We watched the Olympics off an don most the day...horses jumping, and track. The marathon runners....our Scoutmaster's wife is an Tri-athlon runner...they decdied at "Scoout camp" one year to hike around the Lake we were at over near Bend, Oregon..Vicky and her sister...went around that Lake over hill, dale, and creek... like madmen...our Scoutmaster could hardly keep up...now I know why he married her.The two gals from Portland, Oregon today made it in the Marathon in position 10 and 11....the one an couple years ago came in third though...guess they have more training to do...maybe the next Olympics...you never know..I imagine the runners might of liked the rain they got during this running in London also....cooled them off an bit.
