They say when you enjoy what your doing...it works out well for everyone. |

Maybe 2012 can go on for something more then just the end of the Mayan Calendar....and the "hope" of the future returns in Rio De Janerio as it's hosts the next Olympic Games. "Look on the bright side of Life"...winks. For me it's been an long weekend....so am going to head in for tonight. It was well worth staying up and watching....and all the "Rock Music"...you understand it all, no matter the age difference...if you love them enough, especially why they would have an big Octopus on center stage...our children are our future happiness and help in this world...as long as we have them...we don't always need money, and knowing them, most likely won't...with children we have someone to help us in times of need, and they provide us with some laughter and fun... in our lives, we are truly blessed.... Good evening. |

I agree with you James, it seems silly to give titles to people just because they can run a bit but I guess that's how it works now. Sorry I haven't been around for a while but life has been quite busy. I finally got myself a satellite dish so I could watch decent telly including the Olympics. What we get from the SABC is mostly rubbish and the signal is never really good. Now I can watch better programs with a perfect signal. I have enjoyed the Olympics and am glad that team GBR did well. It was also nice that team RSA got a few medals - particularly the rowing and swimming. Its a pity our Semenya left her final dash a bit late or she (?) could have got gold. I did enjoy most of the opening ceremony but I didn't want to stay up late last night to watch the closing ceremony because I am currently staying with my son and family in Johannesburg where it is really bitterly cold and bed was the best place to be. I drove up last Friday (Ron: 550 kilometers which I did in 5 hours 15 minutes with just 2 brief toilet stops) early and came through lots of snow (not still falling but lying thick on the ground) along the way. It even snowed here in Joburg last Wednesday - not a first but quite rare. It is that time of year when alll the local family has birthdays within a 3 month period (mine and my brother today) so we (now just me because Rose has gone) made the trip up here to celebrate all the birthdays at one time. I am leaving tomorrow morning around 8 AM to go home and should make it by 1:30 PM easily if it doesn't snow again. I guess its not as cold in Pretoria Cathy seeing as it is 2000 ft lower than Joburg? The air here at 6000 ft doesn't seem to warm up easily and the cold wraps itself around one despite wearing english warm clothing. The temperature here now (9 AM local time) is somewhere around 4 degrees and another cold front is due to pass through later Have a good day all and see you around.

Syd, good to see you also..depsite all the snow.... Drive safe. DebbieA..don' tthink I've ever been told before to have an ticketyboo kind of day...by the end of this week at 98 degrees it may be more like an sweaty stickety--boo kind of day around here...can't say say look forward to it right now. James, the Grouse Club going without...I mean gosh, you'd think you guys would have an reserve to things like melting out Syd in the snow....or helping Rick with the moving. Let's see...where is that receipe I have for " Wiskey figs"...maybe Paul Newman has it? I know...we use to do jobs around the house here according to how many bottles of beer in effort it was...like setting up an new BBQ was a freind and an six pack...re-doing the flooring in an small cafe, our friends owned...was several friends and an case. You know how that goes. I have no idea how much it would take for an closing of the Olympics..and celebrations. |
