Ron Brind Posts: 19041 Joined: 26th Oct 2003 Location: England | Posted at 23:17 on 24th August 2012 Hi to all POEsters. Thanks for enquiring Peggy. Don is comfortable at home, but suffering many problems. Anna visits him daily and we are always available through the night if he needs us. He doesn't want to move out with any particular member of the family, preferring his own home which I can't blame him for. That said we are having a lot of problems with the scumbag of a Site Warden where Don lives in his Mobile Home Park. The Wardens behavioural attributes are akin to a fascist lout. He is tattoed from head to foot, wears skimpy 'T' shirts to emphasise his 'pigeon chest' and swaggers about the site in shorts exposing yet more tattoos in a particularly arrogant manner. Despite my involving Thames Valley Police over issues that will become apparent soon, they are unable to do very much as it is private land (until he hits me that is, and then I will be arrested for retaliating). I need to skin this cat with a 'pen' rather than respond in the manner in which he would like me to, so you will hear more about this lout, the site and the owners, in due course. The social networking sites are a very powerful tool to start a campaign. The press, radio, television etc can all play a big part in the destruction of this scumbag, and then of course there is POE! We don't want to worry Don with it all, so will be considering our legal options carefully, and seeking the help of organizations in a position to change things for the better. The Warden really is a scumbag lout and will be named soon along with the Site owners!

Right now Florida is trying to cope with Hurricane Issac by the end of this weekend. I hear it's going straight through BP's oil rigs also. Let's talk about Prince Harry...I understand he's in trouble for playing pool in Las Vegas..naked. But no one has said yet if he was in his private quarters...or it naked means in his underwear or not....and why? I guess he wants to be the tabaloid star this week? When your young, it seems like there's aways something your tin trouble for somedays. Until I see if the ladies rate him for being an "stud" I won't worry to much. It's hard to be perfect. Who knows, maybe Harry is "hairy" also...and really didn't' show all that much.A lot of girls that wear "G-strings" to me are showing LOTS!.. winks* More then anything...they look terribly uncomfortable to me. Ok...today...today I decieded to tackle the garage...I mean if hubby's going in four weeks from now for an knee replacemant he needs to be able to walk through the ground floor for more comfort several days rather then tackle our double stairway. So I am working on that, and it's been quite an job...I now have another pickup load to haul to the dump and four sacks of Toys, plus other things to give to teh Goodwill and filled up our recnt shed out back half way with yearly house decorations. Filled up the big trash can half way and have an stack of cardboard now to get rid of also...I had to stop because I have no place to put everything going through due to four days next week being possibly showers off an on. So that means I can go through his room instead maybe....and that's even worse...he'd leave everything piled up until dust mites ate it all if he had his way...but hopefully I can get enough done to give him an comfortable area when he comes home. I still have this diabetes thing going with me also that needs clarified. Things going on this weekend....Mt. Hood to coast "Relay Run"...the Oregon State Fair started....OMSI is having an "Nature's Disasters" program going on until Sept 3...My son comes home for an few hours to see us all...and the Sandy Octoberfest is in full swing this weekend also....wiht Johnny and the Lugnuts...who are quite famous in our area...they do an 50's singing show...as good as most professionals in concert. So with that I go lay down some more, I worked until I could hardly walk any longer today nor bend to pick up another thing. I also ran into the rememants of last winter's guests..and thier mess...it seems they snacked on half an case of Top Raman Noodles and two packages of Marie Callenders "Cornbread" mix...at least what I see so far. Then they tore up all the packaging into tiny cardboard shreds...mixed it with an bag of sunflower seeds...and some fuzz off some blankets I had out there and must of lived in grand stayle most the winter...remind me to throw my cats into the garage more often. With Gloves on, out went the blankets, the nesting material and the mess. Makes 34 years in an row they have come to my house to live somewhere. From the woodpile to the patio...to the garage. I was asked if I caught any alive to keep them for an Python...no thanks..not my style. |
Ron Brind Posts: 19041 Joined: 26th Oct 2003 Location: England | Posted at 11:52 on 25th August 2012 Shirley I most certainly will give particulars when I have spoken with various organizations, Oxfordshire County Council and explored further the Welfare Reform Act 2012 with regard to disabled people including access, parking, numbers of vehicles parked at any one time, confrontational issues, harassment, abuse, victimization to name but a few in private Mobile Home Parks. The owners of the site in question have employed what I consider to be a 'bully boy' to carry out their dirty work, and the 'bully boy' wants to ban me from stepping foot on 'their' Mobile Home Park where Don lives, and where he currently needs support from many people. I have told them to go seek, and gain a Court Injunction before I will stay away. However, I don't believe there is a Court in the land that will support their stupid claims, just one of them being that I was driving too fast on the site (in an emergency, and the second time I was following a dustcart!). The manufacturers of our car have the engine rpm set to run at what equates to a minimum of 6 mph for example, but the site speed limit is 5 mph. In fact it would be very helpful to me if members could try to drive their own cars at 5 mph, without having to slip the clutch, or make the car judder, and/or stop as the result of not enough speed. Your comments here in the forum will be fine, and thanks in anticipation. There are lots of other issues that I will document in due course because this 'bully boy' and his employers are not going to get away with their intimidation for much longer! |

Ron - I presume that the site Don is at caters for retired people. The ones that are vulnerable, tired and elderley and who only want a peaceful and quiet existence? With all the recent horror stories reported in the press & TV concerning the abuse of the aged in nursing homes, retirement homes and at home by carers, it would appear that the older generation are no longer venerated or cared for by people who actually care about the elderley! The people being employed now are only wanting a job and money - they do not want to work for the money and have absolutely no "calling" for that type of occupation! It sure is scary getting older! Bring on legal euthenasia! I would be a happy candidate for that as soon as I couldn't care for myself! Good luck with your fight and I hope you can find some like minded residents or relatives of residents who will join you in stopping this right now! |

Posts: Joined: 1st Jan 1970 | editPosted at 20:50 on 25th August 2012 Ron...perhaps you can solve your differences by having the owner put an entryway "speed bump" in th road to slow people down, because if he thinks your driving to fat...there must be others likewise. But please ask him not to go over two of them or the residents are unhappy as it doesn't help the car to be bounced over them an lot. We kind of have an problem simliar and we are out in the country...there's stretches of land where no one lives...but they want everyone to drive 20 miles an hour...just isn't going to happen without constant monitoring going on.REason..is because it's very "un-natural" to most drivers. It is amazing though...we have had an LOT of kids in this neighborhood, and steady stream of morning an night people walking...and driver's tend to "know" and account for them...if your owner is concerned. As far as his other issues, as long as they take care of their lots and mobile homes...who cares. If theyare strewing around debris in the yard, not maintining thei grass...in which the city has an fire ordiance for that one...people have to have the freedom to enjoy their life also....as I am sure he would wan tto do. It is easy to make rules and regualtions...that quickly become outdated by people that find an way around them.As they said at the store about credit thieves...as fast as security finds and way to stop these crimnals..they find an way to go at it in an different way...by the way...they caught 2 TONS of drugs coming in from Mexico and stopped them in the Santa Catalina Islands down in California yesterday. It appears they are in cahoots with private vessels that look like they are pleasure boat ususer and transferring the drugs so they aren't detected as easily...well, they found out about them. But if you don't want your kid drugged to high hilt...there's always the social alcholism with wine...we got wineries growning all over the west coast. they now even put "wine" ahead of decent food to eat. And if you don't "join" these scumbags as you call them...you get to deal with their diabetes apparently. They want thier drug money if not illegally...they will find a way to make legally...as doctors and "social" fund-raising episodes. Good Luck, Ron...they like to put pressure on the old folks so they will drop dead from heart attacks also. He should be glad he has an steady paying customer in these days of hard economic times. Some small towns don't have that advantage....so your right..the government has to step in for the people's rights. You know..talking about washing...if I had not had the Government step in the old folks where I worked would of had urine and possibly fece germ laden clothing to lay on...it was my "fighting" over these issues that changed our nursing home...and the "management experts" they called in ...and I going around brought the State Government into our place in my behalf. there was no state regualtion at the time that the washing water for linens were at boiling temperatures. They had already cut down my abilty to soap and santizing chemicals. They then wanted me to start washing the clothes in "cold" water. I told these people that if anything came out of this..I'd be held responsible and I didnt' like that...they told me if I wanted an "job" I do as they dam well pleased...I went to the state and told them I was being black-mailed over this issue. They came out the next day...because they had been doing nursing homes checks on me for YEARS and knew I ran an decent place. They spent an week there going through everything.. to let these people know that they DO NOT have the right to do just "anything" they please. So they asked me what I thought our placed needed and underhandly used it to build "FairLawn Towne Center"...but again.. I went over there an looked at thier "set-up" and they were throwign their dirty linen on the floor ...full of germs....to "separate"....that was no tmy style at all...when you do that your cross containing the entire area. In my step up, we used gloves in the white cart we picked up off the floor and went through bag by bag as we separated them...and we did it without shaking out the linen and spreading germs. We also closed the top fo the cart with an heavy sheet when it was beign used....and before they closed the place down we had talked about but in dump chuts in the courtyard to collect the dirty linen so we would never have to enter the hallways to collect it...and having an cabinet wall unit in place for extra clean linins for emergency use. The man whom hired me, and my boss at the timeI was hired..my boss knew me from working at the Laundry at Gresham Hospital...I might also add that one of our neighbors also raised the owner's grandson...Janey Sweeny...her daughter married into their family...this boy had an cleft lip or some such..they had it fixed though....and my boss that hired me later on came from "The Village" an retirement community well known in our area. It was Craig Rhea, Jim Williams and Gene..I forget hsi last name that wasdoing all the "cost cutting" in an place where the cost cutting was already down to the bare bones...but they were acting in behalf of some kind of organization of hospitals and nursing homes in the Western half of the United states and owned 48 of them. Anyway, I knew my job was at jeapardy from them black-mailing me. So it really didn't make an difference that I should find an way to leave the place. I did...after they coulnd't fire me from not reporting to work as my mother was dying an hospital and one of my girls stopped going to school to work my full time place...her Corbett High School then was also having an really bad reputation in the area...and then I got pregnant...they decdied they'd "fire me" in my fifth month of pregancy...I quite on my own in my seventh. Their so called adminsitrator told me that then that I knew more about the nursing home them he did...so I could run the laundry and do my work also..."John" was his name...when I said...but you have more "education"then I do...he said yes, but as your new boss you will do as I ask or I will fire fro sub-ordination...not doing what your told. I betcha "John" is an "banker' by now. When my son first joined Boy Scouts...who comes to the first meeting at our house...but Craig Rhea....he knew me on site...he quietly left after that first meeting here and I asked what happened to him..he said they re-joined scouts in an local church...figures. I beleive the "Union" that was brought into our place...was probably backed by this group also to get rid of our Boss and bring in another for less pay. Most of us were already making the mininum wage or just barely above it. Anyway..I left the place...it went broke of its own accord...so they can not say it was anything I did. When I talked to my Boss then, whom had worked her way up as Director of Nurses to Administrator...she asked me what I wanted to do if they got this "union" in and didn't close the nursing home, which is what they had planned, with an full crew they hired to come in to" take it over", if they voted it in. I told her I didn't like the current union coming in because I felt they were also inadequate in some things and had been by the state boilogists thier representative pointed out as to having planted an "Asia Flu" that killed many patients and workers...myself nearly being one of them. So I told her that since they had no plans to up-grade the Laundry in the future...they might as well as joing the "Teamster's " Laundry union and work from there and see if they could work in that laundry also. That she did..it was probably the best thing she could of done for my crew...as they probably got full benefits and higher wages and this union that wanted to get in I dealed with at Fred Meyers and I don't see where they were really helping the place either. When it came to me..they knew me from before being supervisor and they never really helped me hardly...esp when it came ot seniroty rights. In the land of "Management" it is that I've learned dirty underhandness never goes though as planned..I think it takes some time...but God ususally gives back the hell they put out...the bankers are just one example and its still on going until they learn to act humane in the world. AS to them in teh nursing home...they afterwards I read went into California to operate in the nursing business and got kicked out there also for "double-billing" both the insurance compaines and the families..lieing and saying they never got paid or adding on fees afterwards that they said the had forgotten prior...state just revoked thier busiiness license all together. Even after George Novak left the nursing homeand went back into "The Village"...he was still helping me and what had been our Director of Nurses, now adminstrator. he helped sell one of our pieces of equiptment that hadn't been set up properly and that we didnt' really use. I talked to him constantly also about maybe working there. When he left.. many of our top paying patients went with him, as I to also left. WE had worked our way up to being not only state Medicare accepted, but Veterans' accepted, and into an docotr referral facitly only. My won work saw our depatment in my time go from 85 paitents to 104...and over half of them welfare to not more then 1/3 of the palce....on the same staffing. Novack gave me one more worker an week to handle my supervising duties and to attend meetings. he also made read every manuel concerning the operation of the department and all the state rules of both my department and basic state rules for the entire facilty...incluing all the fire regulations. When addington came along...I was made to be CPR trained and she already knew I had 6 months of Red Cross Classes at school...when Casey Decoursey became director of the nursing staff...she told me that I already had more education then most the workers walked through her door that wanted to be hired, but she none the less made me go with them through Nurses Aide training...she told me so I'd see things from the nursing perspective. I also, as if I didn't have anythign else to do but work schedules and interviews, and training, and daily operations, and chemical ordering and meetings to attend....was writing the first Laundry book for the newly hired workers....each job description, each job procedure, and in short how to run my entire department. I also took care of inventory and replacement. If I was ever "off budget" they knew exactly why. They told me one time I was, and I aasked them to show me how, and never heard from them again. But they did let me use their bookeeper, and secretaries in the office to help me process much of my written work...and by golly....you know what else I did...I saw to it that every patient had thier name on their clothing, so it was worn by everyone else...when they were admitted...not afterwards...and I saw to it that if the patients weremove dot an different room that I knew every morning as I picked it up off my maillbox...which I had for anyone one that wanted to leave me an message. Including numerous "salesmen". I was able in the end to also arrange this work scheule out so instead of gettin gof an weekend once every six weeks...that we worked an roatation shift of one weekend...Friday/Saturday off...one weekend...Saturday and Sunday off...wone weekend Sunday/Monday off and one weekend working. I might add that itseems where ever I have worked I have gotten the lousest dam working hours for some reason or another that I hated...it's like waking up at 4:30..like I did this morning...it knocks me completely off my diet....they want me to eat 5 small "things" through out the day, referably 3 or four hours throughout the day...and waking up that early it's near impossible to do for me. So...I'm glad we leave my washing days behind me. My supervisor that hired me back then had been the Housekeeping Supervisor at Gresham General...she knew not an thing about "Laundry"....and they originally asked me if I'd take on Housekeeping and Laundry...and i said no...I didnt' know anthing about housekeeping and they needed someone with expereince for the job. I also told them that you can not have an "professional" facilty with the nurses running back nights to do the laundry...unless it were emergency....or the hosuekeeper doing the dishes...in short...being all around good for everything...Nurses should be nurses...kitchen cre..kitchen crew, Housekeepers the same and laundry workers...in the laundry. yes, I helped out in the emergency times with the patients I I had my own work covered...but it was truly that...and one or coupel of hours emergency until others arrived. Things have indeed changed, but that is how you "run" anreputable place...and we were not liked by some that wanted to do an sloppy job...that wanted to sit in chairs behind closed doors and visit more then work...I agree they needed more pay...but it should of been pro-rated as to education and training....and job. It should ofstarted with me...as I was next ot an " volunteer" in my mind with what was expected of me daily. You can not have to many job regulations...but you have to have some of them..or you'll have an job done not by it's "service"...but by it's dollar. this is the problem of the world as it is today. Those CEO's bonus checks came from saving money in some other area..or raising prices....or giving inferior service of some kind. |
