Wish we could have an little of your rain...we have had "zero" rain this month in the area of Portland. We had some sprinkles, but apparently not enough to register much.

Taking it easy today Cathyml...all the work and hiking the last couple of days has me down...letting my swelling ankles go down, so they don't get to outrageous to handle. Ounce of prevention is better then an pound of cure.  Though I need to go an get caught up in my grocieries again..this eating fresh food has me shopping more often...cooking less also.

Good morning Vince, Dave and Peggy...another week has started.

We have Labor Day Holiday coming up this weekend...last weekend before the kids go back to school.  there's an saddnest and yet an relief... and many  adults take their vacations thereafter also...if they are were babysitting over the summer. Winter rates come into play for the motels and accomodations usually also. Watching Hurricane Issac on Tv an bit. Guess I better get going, so have an good day everyone.

Hi Shirley, you sure have got some energy, don't overdo things.

You will all be pleased to know I have heard from Roy Jackson and he has not had his camera out since Xmas and therefore not been to the lakes lately, so much wet weather, but he hope to get started again soon and be back on POE

I just found my camera my hubby bought me, he was going to take it with him to Scout Camp and didn't...since he's bought it for me, I've been able to use it once. Most the time we end up using our cell phones and send the pictures off somewhere afterwards. But it is autumn is usually good for finding pictures to take with the leaves turning and the skies still blue. I need to set up something for my little squirrel over this winter and the birds.

I'm still working on school...took an bunch of stuff out to the kids last night...looked at their newly redone room also...kind of like the one I grew up with...where the" entertainment" sat in the corner and the beds on each side flanked by dresser drawers around the room. Sure did update the room considerably though. msn.com has been doing an article on staying in Castles..they are all over the world, but particualry England..gives you an peek inside the rooms also. Several they show tend to be used they say by movie makers. Think they said one was where they made the movie "Robin Hood" years ago.

This morning finds me getting ready for possible rain showers tomarrow morning...by putting away some of the foldable lawn furniture I had sitting around. Haven't checked on Hurricane Issac, but they've had seven years since Katerina to work at things for the next time around...but did they do it..is the question of the day. They did evacuations yesterday in the low laying areas. Supposedly they may get 12 inches of rain. Should be smacking into them here pretty soon...yet they claim within 50 to 100 miles the storm will lose it's punch for the most part. I guess I should get going for now...and get myself into something else for today. So have an good day everyone.

I do hope that Hurricane Isaac will not cause a whole load of damage like Katerina!  I see they are evacuating and hopefully everyone won't leave it to the last minute!

Hi there everyone, hope you have had a great day!

Seriously? Just a big ginger pussy cat? They need to visit Africa to see what a lion looks like. It is about 50 times bigger than a pussy cat and 100 times more dangerous with beeeeg claws and teeth. LOL. very amusing really.

There is a tale (maybe a legend) about 2 guys walking in the veld in Africa when a lion took a great interest in them. One guy sat down and began changing his boots for track shoes. His mate said, "you're wasting your time, even with track shoes you won't outrun it." The other guy said, "I don't have to out run the lion - just have to out run you."
