I just lost my post...I wonder where it went to...if anyone see's it, would they like to send it to me...laughs*

Rick sorry about your troubles..all you mention is indeed trying on you no doubt...expereinced some of the things you mention. Do the best you can under the circumstances...about all we can do at times.

Well, hubby went to Scouts last night.. and brought me home an bag of fresh green beans with an receipe attached from the Bushue family farm...I went to school with this family. Must be giving out free samples. Sounds good and fits into my diet right now. I am reading I'm doing the right things concerning fighting the pre-diabetes problem and walking will help lower yoru blood sugar by 30 per cent and my mouth hurts so badly from the dental work needs done, I'm frantic to get it lowered.  I bought an new blod pressure monitor and diabetes testing euqiptment, though I may not need the test kit later, I can always give to my sister I suppose. though she gets shots, and doesn't really pay attention to testing all that much herself...she goes in once an week to see her doctor. She's on state assistence and it's paid for so she can do that also.

Costa Rica just had an 7.9 mag quake...it was probably the CME Solar Flare due to hit earth today that caused it, it's in the prime area for how they impact earth. REports still coming in on this.

47,000 area Portland School kids returned to classes this morning, and there's probably as many if not more surrounding Portland School kids as well in th eentire "metro" area..many went back yesterday. Schools are big business these days out here.

Reading my book...Joseph of Arimathea in the book as he lays dying is telling the high Druid Priestess about his life and how he came upon Jesus..whom he calls Yesusha....and where he hid an flask of the Holy Blood from Jesus at near by, in an niche inside of an well...then he died...his succcesor all but kicks her out of the hut and called her an peagan whore, which shocked her in ways, as they took this Christain group into their fold the year before to help them, I see trouble ahead possibly with Father Paulus.. the high priestess is raising her sister's son...both her and her hubby was killed recently by invaders...their son, of whom Joseph had been his teacher and his aunt, the high priestess, an Druid...took care of him. He decides at Joesph's death that he neither willing to accept the Christain way, nor the Druids(actually he sees the good and bad of both)...to go an seek his real father's family whom are Romans...kind of left it at that last night. He's getting now the age of intitiation rights into manhood anyway. If I remember rightly I think this is suppose to be the start of the line of King Aurthur...though it's still an fictional/historical novel.

With that I go for now..next couple of days are to be warmer ones in my area...but not to hot. go see what I can get into next to prepare for this winter coming...and to lose weight. Talk to you all later on.

Hi there Shirley - busy as always I see.

Surprise, surprise, we have had a cloudy, cold day today (and yesterday was unseasonally hot) and now it has just rained for about 10 minutes.  The first rain in several months - Now perhaps the grass and plants will start to grow again.  Watering them only keeps them alive, they seem to need the rain in order to grow!!

Hello all.

Hang in there Richard and be strong. So sorry to hear of your loss.

If any of you out there were thinking of moving here to SA - stop thinking about it. Once again, for about the 4th time in as many weeks we have a grey out. The fools keep losing a phase and we end up with 110 volts. Fridge doesn't work, water heater doesn't work and, worst of all because the temperature is 8 degrees C and its raining, the electric fire won't work. Grrrr. I suppose one could look on the bright side, not easy when the lights are dim, and be grateful it isn't a black-out.

I am thinking of importing appliances and light bulbs from the 'states so I can run them at 110  volts . At least I can use the computor, brighter lights and the telly by running them off my heavy duty 12 volt battery through a 220 volt inverter. That helps. On the other hand perhaps going to bed is the answer so good night all and remember to pray for Richard's family.

Oh Syd!  I am so sorry that you are having such problems.  I have to be thankful that we haven't had similar problems with our electricity.  Just the water supply!!

Last night on the news Cathy, they showed where 22 elephants, of all ages too, had been rounded up and killed with an gun shot through the head and thier tusks taken...they said to the tune of about one half million dollars on the black market. Poachers using helitcopters...fly in quick and back out quick. No place is safe these days for the thevies we have in the world any more.

Syd. if you can afford it go propane...at least on the refridgerator, it's what most folks do if they are off the grid and then you can also check into solar panels and wind generators.. for the electricity needs. Also try checking into appliances off boats...the bigger the better. Sometimes the mairiner and boating shops sell some pretty good stuff. They did an feature article not to long ago on this single gal out here that coustomized an small cabin type home on wheels, and she used the fireplace off an boat for her woodstove. It was round like an small barrel but gave out exceptional heat..saved her floor room also because it was long up and down rather then square like an woodstove....so she could put in the wood pieces vertically. If you go propane...you can ussually bury the tank and get it filled once an year if if's very big....and everything camping runs off propane ussually....wait until you see the fancy house lights they have out that are propane, or the propane firepalces also....but for emergencies stick out some solar lights around the house...much less expensive. My dad bought himself an generator to run his house on...and yes, there's something cozy about being with someone special in an area where all it is the huge fireplace for the evening..and comforters/sleeping bags/fur pieces or rugs on the floor or sofa to snuggle up in together.  I've done that before and also at Christmas time...decorated the house with cedar pine boughs through the kitchen...played  an golf game on the Nitendo, opened up the curtains to everything " silen"t and huge white snow flakes falling. Most " peacefu"l time. Though I've not ever played an very good game of computer golf..I hit the ball, it hit an tree... in the rough and came out next to just inches from the hole. I am told I can be truly AMAZING the way I go at playing Golf. Sometimes he just laughs an bit at some of the things I have done in the past. We won't get into the computer sking...or the real skiing...I haven't been out cross-country skiing since I did my knee in up at Mt. Hood...cast all the way down my leg..for six weeks too! Crutches. Hot rum toddies by the fire.... and an guitarist playing Christmas music...as everyone talked about their day.  Looked over each others ski gear that was new.

It would be nice if we all had some prayers going for some better times...so many people now need them.  I best get going for now.

Shirley that is not an option I am afraid because apart from the cost of buying new appliances propane (or LPG as its called here) is very expensive. The problem is not too bad with the fridge because with the weather being cold the fridge does stay cool for a long while. The biggest problem is that the water supply comes from a bore hole and the pump is, yes you guessed it, electric with no option. The fact of the matter is that majority government has, in just 18 years, wrecked the infrastructure. 75% of the road network is past its sell-by date and can no longer be repaired. Health services are a no-go unless you can afford private health care, electricity keeps failing and water supplies are dodgy. What shame, such a beautiful country allowed to deteriorate like this.
