My kitties this morning were much more like their ususal selves again, sneaking around, playing "touch" you... your "it" and take off running. I had an slight headache this morning, so laid back down, most likely heat related but EQMary says her sensitivites have been growing for an local earthquake..or Indonesia..she lives in Sacremento, California....and sure enough they had an 4.5 mag this morning in Parkfield....Don lives there and says it could be an foreshock to an bigger one coming and it might not be also...might be over with. Since we all wished him Happy Birthday recently...maybe he was celebrating? Wine country you know. Suppse to be an bit cooler today and the air is indeed "warm" so will enjoy it if ii is cooker....Have an good day everyone! |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 04:20 on 7th August 2012 Ron, tonight I went out to water everything..I mean 102, 94, and 91 today...longest time since 2009...we have had an day over 90 degrees...and so I'm watering..and the plants are lapping it all up and with my reading glasses on...I walked into an spider web...the spider landed on my glasses...looking like an Tralancula....however you spell that word...I screamed, threw my glasses off and started wiping down the front of me, just in case it landed on me. Talk about totally freaked out! If I had not put the old patio umberella over my pink geraminums...with this heat...they'd never made it and kind looked sad as it was tonight. I came around the front of the house, and my hubby says...so, I bet you ran into an spider web...so did I....Huge... aren't they!..... He wears glasses also. Thunderheads built up today over Mt. Hood and then disapated, in billows of blue/purple clouds with rain....currently they are over Mt. Adams to the north and they mentioned this also over Mt. St. Helens and to not panic...this happens in heat over the mountains with snow on them in the summertime...just take precautions about possible lightening strikes.... until they do disapate. Just took an look at Christ Church, New Zealand's new plans for there re-building of their city since thier earthquake demolished some 1,400 buildings downtown area...it's going to be rebuilt to look more like an college campus....not such high buildings either...and earthquake proofed, with empty areas for parks amoung the buildings. Sounds like an improvement over what was there. Today was an "Lazy" day for me. They put out Holloween decorations last week in some of the stores. We have of course, Labor Day Weekend...last of August...last fling before school starts, then Holloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas...and an few days of vacation time coming up...and the house needs rain gutters yet. Sister in-law..Louise will be coming into town this weekend to say hello to everyone here before all the fall activites start...she's snowed in up there in Washington State. Her son and his wife were with her last week I guess. Come after the Holidays...going to see if I can write another part of this series on my booklet endeavor also. I did find an old book I was going to read though...called the "Crystal Skull"..it looks like an fast read though...may do it on an couple of vacation days...if I have the time. Of course the painting I was going to do last year is still not done either....we added to it...but its far from done. The dock that washed in from Japan was removed from Agate Beach long the coast, up by Newport over the weekend.....and while watching the Olympics...threre's some talk of one of the felllas maybe doing an "Dancing with the Stars" for them this year...and Simon.... and his "Factor X" comes back again. So things are building up as to be busy for us all again..not to mention the infamous Dec. 21, 1012 this year....are you ready? Oh...one last final remark...they caught an ring of 43 child porns that were abusing little kids as young as 17 days old...across all kinds of countries also...they left an calling card is what caught them...and small orange" teddy bear" was given to the kids to single them out in crowds of who they were...may the perporaters rot in hell. Theyare asking the public... to beware of these small teddy bears...with little kids.. The majority of them they say were toddlers about 2 years old. How sick minded people can be these days. So like the " Amber alerts", pay attention people. Have an good evening also... It' s just now starting to cool off here. |

Do you think we will find anything there that points to previous inhabitation by others? Esp by the Rover that just landed? |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 18:42 on 7th August 2012 Can we borrow an little bit James...it's been two weeks without any rain here...though storms in the mountains have seen some if ot fall up there. Cat decieded she'd stay out until 10 pm last night, she liked the cool so well. You can't leave your animals outside at night here...to many other critters, such as possums, racoons, eagles, hawks, foxes....things that would kill them possibly....I guess an Eagle swooped down in the past to make breakfast out of an neighborhood cat before. My brother's cat lost her eye over an cat fight. You just don't leave them out. I let her out at 4 pm yesterday and we were looking all over for her by 9 pm. I think someone must of had her in their house maybe...tossed her out when they went to bed. Glad she made it back just the same. My mlae kitty..whom I raised as an baby stays here around the house...he's an good kitty cat...handsome too! Well behaved. She's just "young" yet I guess. Needs to grow up an bit more. We have marine air that came in and its cooled things down, but leaves me in an over exarated feeling of complete tiredness/stress from the heat of several days...so guess I best go an recuperate before the afternoon sun comes out. Have an good day everyone! |
