We have some hot days coming up in an few days...hate to see my plants all burned up though...just not worth those so called "hot" days any more. Expensive to replace the plants...and hard to get ahold of them also. Blackberries are now settting on and ripening. |

The water dancing...reminded me of Ester Williams...and the ribbon swirling is something I only see over here when the orientals come to be in our Rose Parade....this year they were dressed up as butterflies with their ribbon routine. Beach Volleyball... I liked as well as the other also...and even the horse jumping and the track. Rest, I most likely didnt' get an chance to watch unless it was on late at night in the highlights. They all played very good...and even those that lost by only an point or so...everyone was very competive...but in an good way....no fighting going on during the games. That really bugs me to watch an team over here win an trophy award.... and then the town people go out afterwards and destroy the place. So childish and indeed stupid acting.... Doesn't do the sport right. Good evening Catherine ml...and how are you tonight? I also hope to watch those closing ceremonies. Have my sister in-law here in town... and of course an large amount of people surrounding her...sometimes we do our better talking when by ourselves visting her at her house. But I did get an chance to present her with an pint of my newly made Plum Jelly and I took them over an bouquet of my long stem pink roses...trimmed down an bit...but looking nice. That is something I have always tried to do for her... give her something to say we appreciate your taking the time/expense for us....if but only an small token sometimes. She will be here through tomarrow and head back come Monday sometime. I have to go for now as I'm going to try to go out and see my kids and if we can see this weekend's "Meteor shower" going on...they say it peaks tonight and might see up to 60 an hour, if you stay up until 2 am...which I know we won't. One year I watched them outside doing "ceramics" and staining an decorated mirror with brown tones after painting all the flowers around the edge of it brilliant colors...the brown glaze tones downs the brilliant colors and gives it an nice "antique" aged look. That was quite sometime ago also. Are you still doing your painting classes? |

Well the games are over now, next will be the football season starting,i read this morning the medal winners at the games are being honoured with titles Sirs,Dames and so on i think it is making a mockery of the honours system--any comments. |

Apart from the fact all of us here object to sports/ pop stars/ actors etc they are only doing what they enjoy and can do it well, why an honours listing? The honours should go to good folk who go out of their way to help and make a difference for others. BUT and the big BUT last oylimpics there were quite a few gongs and titles chucked around for a bunch of competitors, so where were all the gongs and titles for the heroes in the paralymics who I believe collectively acheived more medals (about twice as many), these folk worked just as hard if not harder so WHY NO recognition????????????????????????????????? |
