Actually I think the whole show was quite bizarre and it felt like I needed to be on the funny fags to understand it.

My husband is rolling around laughing at this. I can see we're going to have a new little saying in our house for a while.

I think you hit the nail on the head with your review, and I'm going to quote it over on my Olympic thread.

Hehe, it was a very strange experience to watch Sue, but I still couldn't help getting caught up in the occasion.

(ps, never used funny fags, but its an expression I turn to from time to time, lol.)

I think the show last night was about the English contributions and going through "time" in the same space...the contributions were English health care for everyone, English literature. (which brought the "monsters" in for Mary Poppins to run out... English music, with Charots of fire, went into rap music.....and the time era was the Industrial Revolution, with world war I an bit, but not to much as they didnt' want to start anything with Germany being therre for the games... and it all eventually worked up into today's era with the computer and electronics. The kids danced their way upwards in the music ages in that....and of course when it was over...Paul Mcartney took the spin off of that...with " Hey Jude"....fireworks thrown in for an bit of "flare" to it all. I realize there were an lot of people in this presentation, but I think they wanted people "involved" so as to remember it later on in years...(I was part of the Olympics in London)...same for the Queen doing her James Bond thing...and parachuting out of the helicopter....for little kids, they will probably remember that easier in days to come as they grow up.... then some of the formal stuff presented. When you ask them what they remeber about the London Olympics...they will say..".the Queen jumped out of an Helicopter"....possibly followed by the "torch" itself. We all do that   with things these days...several things at once, one layered over the other. I don't know about you, but many of the people had their cell phones and Iphones plugged into others talking about the presentation as it was going on(various news media)...they fairly well explained it also...and if you had that, it wasn't as choatic perhaps...plus it added the " little clips" beforehand to add to the presentation...before it got on stage.

Hubby is home now and just about unpacked, it seems they had an group there from Japan this year, and gave one boy each to the different groups to do things with....I haven't talked to my grandson, but grandpa says he caught an nice sized fish.  Got his merit badge in wood carving also....and made an bird feeder. he did more then that also, but didn't get the whole thing in for an merit badge, he says he can work at them though, get them finished up..his first time out at "Summer camp". He has to catch one more fish and learn his knots.

Spent an hour pulling weeds James....about all I can pull nowadays! lol

But hey, stinging nettles 3 feet tall in the border, stems over quarter inch thick. I wasn't wearing gloves, and couldn't be bothered to go indoors to collect the key, to unlock the shed, to find the gardening gloves....you know what I mean? Yeah, I grasped them tightly in my right hand and pulled.........Wow, brave boy Ronnie? No lazy idiot I reckon, phew is my hand tingling now?

Supposed to be good for arthritis, though not sure I would want treatment anywhere else on my body, phew!!

Good evening everyone!....watched some of the Olympics today amid all the other work going on. Got all three grandkids here tonight. Did some yard work, did some walking for 35 minutes, made an really good dinner...steak sliders with stir-fried onions an sweet peppers on them, did some grocery shopping, and now surfing the net to see what's going on around the world. Hubby had the kids help him with bark dusting again, he's taken the back stairway off my bedroom patio...boards rotted out....and one grandson picked the plums, so will need to make either jelly or juice...he even took me out for breakfast this morning. Not to bad an day. Has tomarrow off also. I was getting caught up in the UFO scene...they say there were sightings in the center of the Olympic torch....but when they posted the video to see it yourself,  the Olympic Committee had taken it down on copyright ownership of the material. June was an VERY active UFO month. But anyway...our friend now has his radio station up and going, and there's sales to be had on survial foods this month also With that, I go for now...busy day and busy tomarrow. Have an good day everyone!
