Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 22:38 on 4th January 2013 I think they call it " re-tire-ment" because you rnow going an second round..decorations down from Christmas and up for Valentine's day..and I finally had the time to open up my Christmas present yesterday...the bread machine...have an loaf each of buttermilk and oatmeal and buttermilk and maple(syrup) for my sister to do and one of cheese bread for the sister in-law..whom now owes me an decorated and lighted wine bottle in exchange. I already gave her an full bottle of wine. So what have I done today...took an walk, let the cats out to take their walk...exchanged items in the freezers..as one of them needs defrosted..vaccumed lightly, made lasuanga for dinner, veggies and baked 7 little mini-fruit pies. Read the morning paper, changed and up dated all the bird feeders outside. Just small stuff around the house mostly. Wind stopped blowing makes it feel like an mini-heat wave otuside. Still have the refrigerators to clean up and shopping to do..just so you know it is most the time never ending for me. James...I did my rubbish thing also...by taking back the empty containers to the side of the house. Would like to see some birds now also. Might take an bath and an little nap before hubby comes home today also. Yes..I'm feeling "re-tired"... so I guess I go for now..weekend two for the Scout Tree recycle is about to get underway. Have an good weekend everyone! |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 19:33 on 5th January 2013 Just off Alaska had an 7.5 quake at 1 am this morning. I was not feeling good last night anyway. Was up at 3:30 am....didn't get to bed until after 12 pm. So I laid back down and slept in this morning. Watched an show where an group of young adults from an Nature Conservatory were in Hawaii, tending to the small animals, the little flying squirels took to this guy, and just seeing him would fly to him to be held...he must make them feel "secure" and safe fo rthem to want to go to him, because he wasn't feeding them. They check on the smaller animals that are out of the nest, but not yet adults on thier health and habitat. They were taking "burs" out of one one little foxes hair and then going about and pulling up the largest bushes in thier path routes, so it wouldn't be as big an problem...checking for fleas/ticks in their fur and combing them out...in one case they had an baby skunk...with an big plastic bag from the neck down..so it could "spray" without the smell all over them. They checked teeth..injuries of any kind...pests of any kind...general health and turned them loose again. It seemed to me about time humanity should be doing such an thing in helping nature. I started reading an book last night..."Lost Empire" an Cussler adventure novel. It started out in England..and his books are like this..several of the begining chapters are about different people in different places, sometimes different time era's and it all weaves in the understanding... at the end of the book. so this guy is spyin gon some ship in an harbor in England...the next chapter is an oceanic couple that find treasures off sunken ship..the third chapter is an Mexican President wanting to restore Mexico's history to it's people and not the Aztecs...that sent an "informant-murdrer" to off Zanibar from an coin the diver's found..and are about to excavate the area.they also found an ship's bell..but not much is yet said on that one..don't know as yet the one that was in England in the beginning chapter. Divers had to check with authorites to see if they could go after it legally or not. With that..I bid you all an good day! Earthquake Mary's last post was her feeling an quake impending for the north of the west coast...along the ring of fire...it was dead spot on it early this morning. I still have an letter to write to her also...as I would like to ask her opinions of my book writing I'm having so much difficulty with in someone wanting to stop me from doing it...I think they are coming through by way of "add-on's" to my computer...to take me off using it or else to acess what it is I am talking about. Not sure..just someone doesn't want me doing this...and yet the ancestors on the "other side" are my guides to helping me many times. they have been with me for years now..telling me they approve of the work in learning their traditions/ways... so an proper story can be told. I go for now. |

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 04:41 on 7th January 2013 Good day has turned into good evening around here. Well, the Christmas Tree Re-cycle is over for this year....they think they might of made an $1,000 the last two weekends...after our article in the newspaper...another one appeared....the church that was doing an "Scout" re-cycle on trees in Portland was also protested against by an Gay Activist group...because the "Scouts" here some time back said they had the right to refuse any Gay's within in thier organization to prevent any possible occurance of child abuse by any leader or scout involved person... they took this to the U.S. Supreme court.... whom ruled in thier favor. The clergy of this church said that he was still backing the "Scout" decision "by law" and also was not discriminating against Gays...the world was big enough for the both..... individually... to live in peace. The next day an older woman showed up in an Red Truck...no tree...seh handed them an $100 bill. What that meant, I am not sure exactly..she was either for them... or making an point maybe against the Gay's...or maybe had an son that was an "Scout" at one time. Scout camp is now about $150 per kid...so this money really helps in muliple scout families, so brothers can go there together..and save the parents added fee's. Jerry came home, do you people remember me telling you about Dr. Sasson and his threeboys going through our Scout Troop....these kids all won scholarships to various well known universities(Harvard for instance) in the USA...they were in part either becoming "research" doctors..or biologist's. His one son told me that he was centered in his study to cure cancer...not just treat it. He has the clinic that charges " no money" for medical care if you need it. He asks an person if they can possibly help him back though in exchange so he has little clini costs... by working in his clinic on an voluntarybasis..or to work at an community service project instead. First thing "hubby" said to me was "Dr. Sasson asked me to tell you " hello" for him and his wife"...been anwhile since I've seen him. I am half way through my book I am reading..... reads like an Indiana Jones adventure in some ways...they've been there and back, half way around the world but most of it's been in Africa...checking out an old ship's bell and the story behind it...they found it while diving. In having it stolen from them... and then retriving it. In -between times I've been baking fresh homemade rolls and making chili and enough food that hubby has "lunch" all week long if he wants...and cleaning out the freezer I need to defrost. Slow project, but I'm getting there. With that I go for now..taking an bit of an break at the moment. Thought I'd come in. Have an good week everyone! |
