Shirley thats sounds to me like you haven't got your mouse on a suitable surface. Try another pad, or at least something different to what you are currently using.

BTW....hello to all POEsters from a very cold Oxfordshire.

Here it si after midnight and I can't seem to sleep...took the kids to an movie tonight and for pizza afterwards. I was reading of an 2,000 year old white stone the Isreal leader gave to Mr. Obama...embedded in it were two chips..one with the US Constitution on it, the other with the Isreal Independence on it. For some reason in my mind it lead to me to think of all the little things people have given me that I charish..far from expensive, but with meaning. For instance...Charles makes angels out of paper clips, beautiful unique pieces of art..and puts an small ruby in the angels hands...you can't buy them...he gives them to people of his own accord..he sent me one of them...I've never even met him. Margy whom worked with my husband...found out I was pregnant..and she had her "Eagle Scouts" make me an Native America head band...on it is my name and tipi's (sign for an home) on each end. I wish you could see the bead work on it..those beads are about the size of an head of an straight pin, and each one is locked in place so if one should ever come loose, the whole strand won't be ruined. When I was an little girl..in an box of "Cracker jack's" I got an small heart in an iridscent pink/orange plastic that you could see through...with an sailing ship on it...I still have that also. Some 50 years ago...my hubby..then boyfriend took me to the statefair when it was in town here...and I had my signature read...it was the first time someone told me I was "intutive" to the point that it went clear off the graph bar...I figured back then it was probably something made up...but have since had two other sources tell me the same thing. I kept that card because it so impressed me on what it said. It said I stood for truth and decency in the world. I was intelligent beyond my years and caring. I also kept this little cup my girlfriend gave me the night we graduated from high school...she swiped an huge pink rose off someone's bush and left me the message..Wake up sleepy head!"...an new day has dawned in so many words..I had to graduate that night and while everyone else was celebrating we were on our way to Fort Lewis as my hubby graduated the next morning from "Boot Camp" and was on fulough until they boarded up to go to Vietnam...but I kept her message and an few petals off the pink rose...and the freindship cup. I also kept the Mother's Day card from the little girl I had weekends and Holidays growing up around my house...it was written to "Mom number II" ...at one time I had an top glass figureine my grandpa let me have of an deer..off an old powder box in his house...it eventually fell and broke...but I probably had it some 20 plus years before it happened. Finally I have this picture frame in the word "Love" and in the center of each letter you can put an picture in it. It has an picture of my hubby with my son...his first Christmas..and myself with my son, and his first birthday. But the picture of him and me is unique..you can detect just looking at it an very strong "aura" surrounding us. It almost glows kind of in the picture. Not to mention that I've had two other little girls with my name inserted in them from their mothers that knew me. I also have my 8th grade graduation watch...my mother's watch given to her for Christmas one year, and my grandmother's watch...whom worked her life as an nurse. Just little things over the year...and if I were Mr. Obama...I would cherish that "rock" forever. Some things in life money just can't buy.

You do realize how "old" these things are now. my mother was born in 1928...her mother older yet...on the watches...I graduated in 1966...I got the glass deer when I was about 10 years old..I'll be 65 this June.  the little girl I raised is goin gto be 35 years old this year..the plastic little heart I got about 58 years ago. I finally put my bible from Church Sunday School in an locked seal proof box because it's pages have turned so yellow...it's now 59 years old. My.... how time flies by....I don't feel all that old myself.

Sir Ron...my Lap top doesn't have an mouse, but if it did, you can be sure my cats would grab it.

Busy moving stuff around today. Can't seem to find the kids parents, not answering thier cell phones. So they are out there biking out front of the house, helped grandpa snip some of the trees...he actually got the pear and grape vine out yesterday... when my son came over. I think he's happier with this car...he mentioned it to me. He asked my opinion about it.

Peggy...I'll have to back up and read about your green box, I moved my black one today..it's full of four pretty little canaries. Our lady cat is currently sitting on top of their cage. I think she likes the excitment that she generates, and it's covered with an towel on top so it's not like she can stick her nails through there. They like the change of scenery from time to time also. Just one minture Peggy...I'll be right back.

I only saw one post about your green Box Peggy..what is it?  Areyou an person that does an the farmer's market on weekends maybe?I tried that one time, an local nursery was giving away free seed if you'd grow it and volunteer it for the fresh food bank...I tried to but nothing ever grew from the seed..probably old stuff maybe? But we do an have few people that growing veggies in the area, leave boxes out front with extra produce that has "free" on the box and limit of so many per stop..so others get thier chance. There's an couple in "Bend, Oregon" doing that...people that want to participate have to be registered, and they have limits weekly...so everyone has an chance for something...and its went over like wild-fire in the past.....but they are using about an couple of acres to grow stuff also..not just an small back yard. My sister volunteers to help process the veggies from farmer's that bring it in to an collection area where she lives...and then they get something for free...usually lettaces..but in her case, it's all welcomed.  Plus I've given her an few things from my garden, but we havent' had but an lousy garden for years on end around here. Our soil needs greatly improved. I just went out and spread my third box of fertilzer around the beds I already have...hitting an bit of everything. Hubby is on his secodn bag of grass fertilizer with moss control also. You know when you have an lot of moss unless the ground is swampy...that you don't have much in the way of nutriments in the ground itself. Our ground is very much clay...I should go into ceramics perhaps. We bought an dump truck load of top soil when we first moved in,,,but it's been nowsome 34 years. I would hate to have to live off this land in an emergency food stiuation.  I guess I better get going for the day.See what the grandkidds are up to. One wants to stay another night I understand. they were up early so granpa took them to McDonalds for breakfast. Hard for me to babysit when I don't go to sleep until about 3 am in the morning. Have an good day everyone!
