All this while you people lay Margaret Thatchter to rest. They seem to know whom sent the letters by the way. I guess it's no surprise. I never knew that pressure cookers were used for making bombs until I read an news article on it yesterday. No one showed us this on any of the survival shows...I guess I shouldn't say this but I'd rather make canned food then blow someone up...pressure cookers to buy are not inexpenisve items. Without them the ladies of the 50s had far less food stored for the winter months...would be that way again if there were ever an EMP hit that closed down the electricity grids..bad bad bad! Without them I could of never made my quart sized jars of homemade chunky chili year or so ago. It kept four different households fed with some chili...so it goes to show...once again the good people are good...the bad people are bad I guess. It's whatever route an person prefers to persue in life.Chose wisely people...be humane. I am an bit concerned about the 12 quakes almost one behind the other near Japan this morning...wonder wha tis causing them. whom turned the baddies loose out in the world...first China is fighting the "Bird flu"...Iran is having severe quakes....our problems with bombs going off...Britain with thatcher's death...makes you wonder how much of it all this was planned by someone perhaps...Not to mention North Korea is stomping around "Nazi" like . Maybe time to get back to the simple and happy times of living?. Since you people like your little beef pies...here's an receipe for you...easy one too!...In an 10 inch skillet..cook 1/2 pound 80 per cent beef with half of an medium onion finely chopped until beef is throughly cooked, drain. Stir in 1 cup of diced peeled sweet potatoe,1/2 cup of Irish Stout Beer, little salt and pepper to taste...cook until veggies are tender, liquid is evaporated..heat an oven to 375 degrees and grease an cookie sheet with spray or shortening. to one can of Pillsbury Grands flaky layers original biscuits....8 to an container...roll out into an 6 inch round...place 1/4 cup of the beef mixture on one side of the round and fold over the dough, press down with an fork to seal. Bake 12 to 15 mins..remove immediately from the cookie sheet to cool slightly and serve. It's called an " Beef and Stout Hand Pie". 250 calories each. With that I go for today..make the most of it everyone!

Sk Lawson Posts: 4014 Joined: 7th Oct 2010 Location: USA | Posted at 07:32 on 18th April 2013 Long day today people...my son and I had an discussion the other day about his wife and him arguing here lately...not like them...he finally tells me that he hasn't been working for two weeks in order to find another job. I asked him if he needed help...as I could see they have very little food in thier refrigerator last time I was out there. She said "yes"...I explained to my son...that when his dad an I were younger....that often his dad didn't work on bad weather days...and had it not been for my mom and dad...we would of went without also We are not an wealthy family...but we do share when we can. So...tonight I got them another $200 worth of groceries...as well as the stuff they got last Sunday from us in canned goods. He's working but most likely won't get paid for an bit...so this should hold them until he does get paid. They both helped to put the groceries away and helped me haul them in also. I told him I can't do anything if Idon't know what exactly the problem is. To be grateful that we can help them...as their may be an day coming when things might be different. I met thier landlady today...nice looking lady, I hear she was an World wide winning Horse woman in her day in some kindof horse compettion. Thier new window blinds came in tonight also...so we got them put up...am hoping to finsish off helping them as my own house needs repairs also. left with their cupboards full, thier refrigerator full, the counter with snacks and goodies, frsh fruit and some veggies/meat for their small freezer. it's easier to deal with the problems of the day if your not hungry and worried about how your going to feed the kids. Boston Marathon blast....they think they may of found the culprit..but they don't know who he is...just that he's very tall and slim and was wearing an white baseball hat...he was on an cell phone, and quickly ran up and put down an backpack on the ground and left. But they got pictures of him and are running them through files to see if they can pull up an identity. As far as Obama's culprit...he was arrested earlier today. I haven't seen an thing on Thatcher's funeral though in the news...but I did an comet that's incoming named after her apparently in the news...it comes around every 450 years. Japan had an swarm of over 14 quakes today...over mag. four....people are asking.."Why?...."What is this all about". With this I head in for tonight. Long day...bought myself 24 strawberry plants...so the planting is far from over I guess you know. Talk to you all later on. |

Hi to all..maybe not such a good day here, the power has failed three times already this morning. Maybe the high winds causing problems. Unusual that we lose power like that.
