John !! In the 70's I was on a survey job at Gatwick Airport mainly on the taxi ways and the runway and also some local areas to tie in with the Ordnance Survey grid system, also involved setting out a few centre line marks for a second runway but that was a waste of time as there are cargo sheds where it was to go. As a base we had an office in the Beehive for a while and as John said it was the first terminal at Gatwick and was a ground breaking design in it's time. |
