If it's not an artist and not a photographer I wonder if we are looking for a sculptor ?

Not a scuptor or an artist Ruth, although drawing would have been a large part of his JOB

Now I'm thinking architect or designer.

I did think Steve when you said Job, but he's not got a museum dedicated to him, although the house where he built his first computer has just been declared an historic landmark.

Back to the drawing board with this, so to speak.

Not American Ruth, John got the nationality earlier and 'drawing board' is a move in the right direction. Go back to Ken's 'George Eastman' as there is a definite link although not obvious... John was also close i his reference to Eastman.

Is the answer Oskar Barnack from Germany? He is known as the father of 35mm photography.

That's the man Ken, well done sir.

Oskar Barnack suffered from asthma so invented a lighter smaller camera using 35mm cine film instead of carrying around the more cumbersome instruments they had then. He worked for LEItz CAmera Co and that is where the famous name LEICA comes from. The first Leica was introduced in 1925

Name the world famous landmark that was built in the 1930s  but people keep going there to end their life so the next step will be to build an extremely expensive safety net to stop people jumping from it.
