Makes me wonder why if all these people think their images are good enough now ... why didn't they upload any before in a more orderly & sensible fashion ? Seems to me also that not many have bothered to comment on anyone elses uploads either & are purely only interested in themselves ? A sad reflection on quite a few I feel that the only reason to upload now is the lure of possibly some money coming their way? I would hazard a guess that quite a few "regulars" are not that bothered either way if we sell any or not..but to make it a priority for uploading ...is a bit sad I feel. If you want to delete any of mine Ron .. feel free to do so. |

If you look at the uploaders profiles you will see a few new ones, which is fair enough, but a lot of older members who can only have been enticed by the mail sent out to all members over the weekend. A very sad state ofaffairs indeed, and it can only be called GREED. As I have said there have been some very good images put up in the last few days, so where have these 'photographers' been for the last few years. I've been here now for 3 years and a lot of those names are completely new to me, very sad indeed |

I'm with you on the selling issue too, if I sell one I'll be happy, if I don't sell one I'll still be happy. There have been some good images uploaded over the previous few days, but several of the same place or building taken from a slightly different angle is very irritating. Another thing I've noticed is a lack of narrative. I like to know a little about the subject matter, makes the shot more interesting and more personal to it's owner, shows that a bit of thought has gone into the upload. |

A photo without a narrative ( minumum .. what where and when ) will very rarely sell. Plus as you say it makes a photo more interesting to be able to read something about it. Whether it be historical fact or just general info on a landscape. Again this is a point we have all raised before, the comment box really should become compulsory and I am sure it will be on the 'to-do' list that Chris and Sarah will have. Shudder to think how long that list must be |

The sooner the better as far as I am concerned ... as it doesn't feel like the site I have come to know this past 18 months. The enjoyment one gets from either uploading or commenting ... has turned into a chore at the moment & the whole thing just leaves a little unpleasant taste in the mouth ..... if that's not too strong a point ? |

Trudging through a plethora of mundane images to find the good ones, which are there, is hard work and time consuming. But I think there is a sign that the initial euphoria is abating somewhat. I still have quite few from my September/October Lakes week to upload yet but am holding off for a while. Might give me chance to start looking through those taken in December although that won't take very long ... it was mainly wet. |

Hang on Dave for a few days. I completely lost some of you previous uploads. I'm sure we'll all be back to normal soon. |

The checking for detail and adding a bit of narrative should be part of uploading dicipline for all of us. As for making a sale, for me it is the thought that one of my pics was what someone was looking for and that is a great boost for anyone interested in their photography, hang on in there eveyone - sanity plus a few changes are on their way. |

I understand it's frustrating for you, but please just hang on in there. Lots of questions above, but to answer Daves "is the automatic approval earned" the answer is no, it was an experiment that is also being considered and will change shortly so those who have uploaded scores of images are going to get a shock just as soon as we can get round to it, because the hosting is going through the roof. Part of the problem as mentioned above somewhere is that those who are adding images like there's no tomorrow, probably don't read the forums and are therefore oblivious to what is being said. Please remember that your comments are important to Chris and Sarah who are listening to you even though they don't comment too often. They are taking note, so thanks you to all.
