Just to join the conversation with regards to the sale of photographs on the site.

From a buyers point of view the quality I would be looking at for the use of greeting cards would be as follows.

Misty Morning & Edensor by John Godley

Shillinstone in Dorset by Graham Rains

Corber Edge by James Carter

Scotney Castle By Sarah Dawson

Fiddleford Dorset by Graham Rains

Gold Hill by Paul Hilton

These are a random selection that I would be prepared to buy for the front of greeting cards for special orders.

To be on the perifery of POE and unable  to post photographs on the site due to my location outside the UK  I think it would be fair to say that if anyone wants to sell on the site then at least become a paid up member, to have the use of the fantastic facility on the site.

For example to store and sell my Meditation CDs in digital format on DPD to enable clients to download I have to pay 16$ per month

I am deleting lots more images submitted, but please don't be offended if it happens to be you (a regular contributor that is) because with limits lifted the pressure on the hosting is also rising making it a choice of 'lots of reasonable to okay images being approved' or accept the best submitted so for example too many shots of the same location, but different angle will inevitably result in some being deleted.

I think the regulars who use the forum are aware of this, but I feel bad about it sometimes because I know you all as good friends and that makes it even more difficult, but at the end of the day it's about what is best for POE.

Thanks for understanding 'guys n gals' and thank you for your continued support.

I have held back from uploading any images recently because the possibility of selling my images has made me more self-critical. It's a waste of my time, and a waste of PoE's server space, if I upload images which don't have 'It', although 'It' can sometimes be difficult to define exactly.

What I do know, however, is that images which are out-of-focus, lacking in contrast, poorly exposed, with washed out grey skies, tilted horizons and poor composition will not sell. Nor, as Ron says, is there any point in submitting multiple images of the same location.

Submitting the best possible images gives the viewer a far more enjoyable time as they scroll through the latest imasges or of places they are interested in.

Delete away Ron!

It will improve the already great reputation that POE enjoys.
