Sorry John incorrect but Robert is from Tyneside

I was made Technical Director at my firm then the company I worked for was sold but 1 of the conditions was that I kept my job

My greatest work was initially rejected as a failure but they soon changed their minds

Sir Robert Mclean gave my greatest achievement its name after hearing me call my daughter it, I wasn't keen of the name but it was better than "The Shrew" which was another name suggested

I'd steer away from those two Rusty as thy're no where near

At the age of 23 my work took me to Southampton to work with the super marine people and it was there I worked with the walrus' and my biggest project

I like to make things fast

Nice to see you John, I'm getting nowhere fast with this.

I thought of R J Mitchell, but I'm wondering if he might be wrong era. I came across someone who called his daughter 'Little Spitfire" but I've lost who it was now Smile

Everyone I've looked at so far John either died older or was bone later.

I went to Margate in 1972, enjoy the comedy Smile

Well done John

R J Mitchell the inventor of the Supermarine Spitfire named (by Sir Robert Mclean)after his daughter "his little spitfire"(well done Rusty) started life as a train engineer apprentice

And yes the walrus and sea eagle were sea planes, I tried to throw the scent by leaving a gap between super marine as to lead you to some kind of marine biologist

and yes it was the Schneider Trophy which he had 4 wins with the Sealion, and Supermarines S.5, S.6 and S.6b
