Our bad news is that the car is terminally sick. We've spent a small fortune on it in the last 18 months, now the gear box is bust, so it's having to go we can't be doing with throwing more money at it for something else to go wrong next week. It's 9 years old, so time for a newer one. My favourite: Pictures \| Towns \| Attractions

We were looking for around £1500 in part exchange, but a new gear box is £1500, so we're just going to have to salvage the road atlas and a few other bits and bobs and sell it for scrap. We've made our mind up that next time we will keep it for a maximum of three years then sell it before things start going wrong. This is the fourth time we've hung on and it's cost us a fortune.
