Vince has leapt in and taken in with Hazchem plates, many years ago I used to be able to read and understand them all but not any more.

Well done Vince, over to you Smile

OOPPPS, I was not supposed to get anything right today- will have to be a quick and easy one.

How did the rock band AC/DC get their name ?

I think I might have a bit of an idea on this one, David is a big AC/DC fan. Has this something to do with one of the band members seeing the AC/DC - Alternating Current and Direct Current sign on the back of a sewing machine or possible vacuum cleaner ?

Ah that is good- quick and easy and it's gone - well done Ruth

It was a sewing machine as you said first.

That's the ones John, they will have a symbol designating the type of hazard ie. toxic, flamable, marine polutant, corrrosive, irritant, the list goes on and there will also be numbers and letter codes to designate the degree and effect and also telephone numbers for emergency contact. Dave will know a lot more than I do- it is all part of his logistics,   You will see them on the backs of lorries and trucks as metal plates in as Ruth said mostly orange but I think some can be yellow.

Yes, I did say some were yellow. Take a look here John Smile

As I said I used to be able to read them, but that was many years ago when I might have needed to know how to deal with a vehicle involved in an accident, the knowledge has faded over the years.

I'm still working on a new quizzy Smile
