Oh don't mention the fish James, I can't get in the freezer for the stuff, and there's chance of more on Monday if the trip doesn't get cancelled due to the weather. Fingers crossed it's too windy to go out to sea Smile

There isn't much of a commercial fleet left up here either John. Bridlington concentrates mainly on shellfish now, and guess what, most of the catch is exported to France and Spain.

Evening Pat, that sounds like an awful traffic problem. I thought of you today, we were at Todmorden market and David bought some dubbing for his boots.

The wind has made a mess of things here as well James and we've no where near as much to tidy as you have. The sweet peas have been tidied up and I've collected the pods for next year. Goodness knows what's happening with our sunflowers, they are looking pretty pathetic. I gave my mum some seeds out of the same pocket and hers are as tall as trees with huge heads, whilst ours are shameful. You enjoy your tipple, we will be joining you very soon Smile

Before it turns Sunday morning.....English History of the Bull Inn at Royston.....For greater interest attaches to the Bull Inn, even were it for it's association with Thomas Hobson.  The Cambridge carrier whom MIlton made famous. In the closing the 16th century, it appears to have an dubious reputation, for when Anthony Bacon came to live on Bishopgate street in 1594, his mother became exclusively anxioous on his account "fearing the Bull Inn in the neighborhood" It was for the house notable as the scene of many dramatic performances. That is was the recognized headquarters for the Cambridge Carriers...Hobson of course, was head of the faternity. He had flourished amazingly since he suceeded in his father's business. Despite his growing wealth and advanced years, Hobson continued his regular journey's to London, until the Plaque discontinued service for an time. (The Hobson family sponsored an George Lawson to colonial america in 1655..I have them also in the same data spelled as "Dodson"... he of course took out 1,000's of acres of land) Thomas Hobson, an contempary of Capt John Smith, 1608, slain in the 1622 Indian Massacure near Jamestown, Va,  he lived at what was called "The College Land".... to one day be designated for an college in Henrico Co., Virginia.
