Good evening everyone. I've just spent an hour and a half on the phone to my friend in Northants. We only speak around once a month so there's always lots to say. Good job it's free.

Good day...we have an 200 acre fire burning 10 miles east of Estacada today..our whole sky is smoke covered from it, hopefully they will get it out pretty soon... have 100 guys and helicopters dropping water and battling it in rough terrtain..closed down on hgihway..224. Not to far from where my kid's live but an bit eastward.

This book....you people over there must have more interesting TV shows then we do here. Book starts out...the local constable is returning from his vacation in Spain...two things happened while he was gone...one local post office gets robbed, second this woman moved into town and all the guys are visiting her nightly. He solves the first problem and goes pays the lady an visit..she looks like she's got all kinds of potions on her shelves. Won't tell him what they are or take an sample without and search warrant. He leaves her house having made comment, I'll find out if I have to kill her what's going on. Well, milkman comes over and says she's not taken in her milkbottle for two days...maybe he ought to check on her.  He breaks into the back of her house, to find her naked in bed, stabbed to death..as he goes outside to call the morgue for an autopsy...the house starts burning down. By now people have accused her of beign an witch. By now he's talking to all the guys to find out what they were doing. It seems she was giving them an potion to make them sexier with thier wives...it turns out to be "Spanish Fly"...and they all have health problems for it and he's been talkin gto the doctor that treated them. There's a bit of humor in his  investigating this with the locals. Apparently none of them own an computer to get ahold of viagra. Anyway..he has an superior officer out after him also, in hopes he can get rid of him...he's to good an cop apparently...whose wife turns out to been an past prostitute...though she's changed her ways..she black mailed him into marriage way back when also. She recongizes the lady "witch" and I left off with her telling him who her identiy was... that she knew her by. Meantime they called in an forensic lady who finds the cause of the fire...it had been set outside the house, apparently when he was inside it having found her body...by way of an lit cord into the house near the kitchen window. So goes so far, but this has been an bit humorous listening to these older men fess up as to why they took the potion she gave them...concerning thier elder wives...and their sex lives. One got literally thrown out of bed, as his wife said shewas "Catholic' and was NOT about to have another kid at her age. He resigned to say he'd probably visit an local betrothal there after, and told the constantable his" lips were sealed" as to where it was. His senior officer would much like to set him up as the culprit that didthe murder. So onto the next chapter.

LOL Shirley I hate American so called humour, I just don't get it, it definitely doesn't make me laugh so yes we do have more interesting TV programmes. Mind you, that said we also have our share of rubbish!

Good Morning to all---Ron some of the old American humour was really funny to listen to --going back to the 50s and early 60s there was some good stuff for instance the Phil Silvers show was very funny as was the Jack Benny show to name a couple but i could never laugh at that idiot Jerry Lewis in a million years and as you say we dont half have some rubbish over here --lots of it that should be re-cycledSmile

Good afternoon everyone. If we got rid of every soap and every reality show, the TV would be a better place. Then we'd probably only have enough decent stuff left for a couple of hours a day though - not a bad thing.

Ron, most our shows were confined to doctor's in emergency...or police killing their victims...that's why I liked "Dancing with the Stars"so much..it's entertainment. But I do like an wide variety of shows, and plenty of them learning shows..not brain washing ones.

Our fire is now at 1,000 acres straight up the side of the ravine in two different paths, it's really helicopters fighting more so then the guys, cause I doubt without being in ropes they could manuver the area. But, the smoke isn't settling all over the sky right now, so they must of done some good yesterday. Probaby mopping up more or less.

I'm over half way finshed with this" witchy" book. I am kind of forming my own "Who done it" opinion. I have about three candidates so far.

Just finsihed my first mile of walking will concentrate on another 3 miles today after I get some of my prescription filled again. So I can set the next two nights and watch "DWTS" ...I'm putting away my summer clothes this week also. I never really wore them in ways..cause it was so hot when it was nice out that I had to stay indoors. Everything is still burnt to an crisp..I see one of the neighbors up the street is watering her dead grass. I went out the other day and watered when I planted...the water sits on top the dirt because the dirt is so "baked" right now. It will take some continual but light rain to get things greened up again. Other then that, it will run off and flood everything most likely because it can't soak into the ground very well right now. In the meantime in California, one of their rivers stopped flowing to the ocean not to far from it. Earthboppin has pictures of it. Thye have severe problems there, but we are going to also if things don' t change back to normal. I have no idea who the idiots are controlling our weather...but they aren't doing much for the word of "normal" at all.  I think this has everyone' s mood lightly "ticked off" from one day to the next...constant all time high in crime and murders and house fires and general mayhem...and kind of this slightly underground notion to destroy "America" in ways...and "Americans".. Lots of nasty propaganda campaigns in that going on over the net. Leadership don' t really help either these days...they got their mind in thier wallet.... or their pants for the most part. I go for now. Have an good day everyone...it's an new week.
