Went to the post office around 4.30 in the pouring rain got back here around 5.50pm. Just so happens the Golden Rule is 100 yards from the post office. So just a quick catch up and off to the Unicorn for a lovely rare steak with all the trimmings, and a pint of course

Steak was spot as usual, just let down by confirmation of what I heard earlier. One of my recent mates was found dead in his bed this afternoon. Just taken the edge off the week a bit now. Had stopped raining when I went out but heaving down again when I came out of the Unicorn, Just about befits the situation I suppose. Reckon the whole village will be in a state of shock tomorrow. A very well like guy.

Hi James, yes it's very nice in there any time of year, I bet it looks really good now.

So sorry to hear about your mate Dave, it all sounds a bit sudden, had he been ill ? I'm assuming by your comment about the village being in shock that he was an Ambleside man. Very sad indeed.

It's always a shock Dave even if the person has been ill. Condolences from this end.

Sorry to hear about the sudden loss of your Ambleside friend Dave. Sounds out of the blue and it must take the edge off of week.

Pat, on a lighter note , I am glad to hear that Bern has had his date brought forward and I trust he will feel the benifit that much sooner.

Before I summit an avatar, I have to decide what I'll put in..right now is kind of busy...well, let's put it like this..I left at 10:30 am and got to sit down at 8 pm tonight, I've been home long enough today to cook my hubby something to eat for dinner, before he had to take off for the weekly Scout troop meeting. But...I took "Mary" her Christmas Gift, took my sister out to lunch, did some shopping  with her and came home, She lives basically an hour better drive from me plus total both ways... filled out another Christmas card and took it to the post office, then I needed some candles and an basket..so I stopped by the Thrift shop and then the grocery store on the way home to buy the tea and coffee and jams for the basket to go with the Christmas Tree "Warming bread"...which turned out an unusual oriental one....forgot the necklace I had them lay aside to buy...so had to go back..after I got home.. to purchase it.....I had dinner for lunch today and haven't eaten since either. Just picked up my confirmation numbers again on our rooms also  I'm ready to relax...my sister in-law is still not in good shape...she says after my brother and myself had words Thanksgiving evening...she's been back into the hospital...took one of her final exams and the last one comes Saturday and after that she's free for the rest of this semester...I told to pick an day...she said next week.... and we'd go have lunch....someplace decorated for Christmas... She says all this back and forth at the hospital...no Christmas decorations as of yet this year. No tree

Sorry to hear about your freind's passing Dave...not an good time for sick kids and/or family problems.  When it's an well known person...seems like the whole town comes to an stand still. I'm hungry...think I'll go make me something to eat. So talk to you all later on.
