It wouldn't be so bad Pat if they weren't so noisy and untidy. It drives me bonkers. With the baby as well there's even more clutter. David cleared a nice big space in the wardrobe for them, but as usual the floor is the preferred choice.

It's still very cold here too, our snow isn't shifting either.

Sunny here, but cold today..high is 30 degrees.  Next three days...big dinners.. I guess you know.  Tonight hubby's birthday dinner..someone gave him an "Outback Steak house" gift card, then comes New Year's Eve and the Chinese food...and finally New Year's day and the Ham dinner and I hope I'm out of it for an while so I can work on the diet.  Been really sleeping in late since after Christmas day for some reason also...... I'll have to put on my ladies "Long john's" and hibernate...where is that furry blanket of mine?

Ruth, Hang in there!...Jan 11th isn't that far away.  I use to do that when the kids were little, I'd make an corner" room" on the floor with an air mattress under comforters/blankets and put books in it for the kids to look at, fill it full of stuffed animals. Sometimes pillows in bright pillow casings. Often times I'd walk in to find them napping there. I'd give them small pots and pans out of the kitchen, and big spoons and measureing spoons and cups and some cereal and let them play "cook" thier snacks also....an book on the floor with an bright red cover on it.... makes and nice" campfire" to cook on top of. Lego blocks are really "in" with the older ones right now. Naturally any kind of electronics. I had hubby also put in permanent hooks in the patio we built in...the celing in an stud.. for an infant swing also...I can take it down when I want and store it near by...or take it oout to the swing set in the yard in summertime, which I took down, but kept the swing. But the baby doesn't have to be outside to swing in the winter...and it's near an table on the other side of the doorway where mum and I can sit and drink our beverages and talk...as we lightly swing baby...with the door open. Easy fix's... if the weather isn't good for them to be outside. Can't be crawling around to far if they are in an swing either exactly. I don't doubt your an seasoned grandmother by now anyway.

Evening All, trust everyone is OK, I am sure Ruth that the chaos is worth seeing the family and normality will all too soon return- what is Jingles making of it?

I hope Ron you are not looking in as you should be at the moment in the world of C.S. Lewis.

I'm back...do you remeber couple months ago I mentioned an house down the end of the street from us for sale..had an in-ground pool but an very small yard...belonged to an retirement couple/lady...my real estate firm we've done business with sent me out an post card that they sold it...for $299,900. A bit pricey but it was top of the line remodeled, so there wasn't much an person could do to enhance it. When I talked to the guy that had it originally I told him I didn't think he'd have any problem selling it...but I thought it needed to go back to slightly older people then ones with little kids, mostly because of the small yard... and so far I think that's what has happened.  From the looks of things they are selling houses all around us right now, which is what Mrs Newberry said also, she another real estate lady. Maybe thre economy is picking up an bit better this year, or maybe those that didn't have an stable income to begin with are moving out.  My aunt and uncle on my dad's side have built about one third of this town in years gone by...in the 60's era. Besides thier plumbing business that is so famous. I guess I go fo rnow, we did major moving furniture around tonight and things look better and better set up now for winter.  Tomarrow's high is 30 degrees. As far as I could see the whole country side is in the minus wind chill factor this next couple od days from west coast to east coast...be sure an stay warm and out of the cold wind...if your not in those"spots" in the country where its not cold...Florida/California..etc.

Hi to all POEsters and thanks to Vince for pointing out the rubbish comments attached to Grahams Spider picture. C&S will deal with the spamming rubbish shortly.

This is a good example of what is great about the POE members, you see something that you think is wrong and you let us know about it, that's fantastic.

Thank you to everybody for helping to keep POE safe and enjoyable for all!

Have a good evening, but be careful as ever.

Happy New Year...

Anna and Ron

Good morning everyone. A lovely bright cold sunny day here.

In answer to your question Vince, Jingles is behaving like any 14 week old kitten - everything is a toy, and everywhere has to be reached at a thousand miles an hour.

Have a good day everyone, and a Happy New Year to all at POE, all the best for 2015.
