Yes, Ruth..I have them also, but we just try not to go into populated places when there's an flu bug about. It's not worth the chance to catch anything...prevention is worth an poound of cure as they say.

OK just got done hearing the President's State of Union address...we are going to be busy people this year from the sounds of things. He says we are in need fo some long time changes in things and this is the year to do that...he wants to start by allowing two years of community college education for free, provided you keep your grades up...and he wants to start child care with lower fee's for it and address the issues of working parents that need help, he wants to roll back taxes for the middle income folks, he wants to send an rocker ship to mars, he wants to add new techonogies at street level...rather then just big company. He wants to help secure the world by working with other countries to protect thier own turf..not us. He wants an better  "equal and fair"  justice system for all sides. in law enforcement...and wants the "hackers" taken off the net. He wants medical care for everyone...in some way. He wants medical technologies focus on rehabiltation, rather then one of being disabilty dependent. He asked us to get back to our moral values that make an country strong.. with enough repect to maintain everyone's freedom in the process. His wordage was " let's move into the future... and leave the past." In some ways it's been hard enough on us all in the past. I'm glad he thinks we are all capable of doing that this year. I'm still cleaning around here for the start of this year I guess you know.  I did the downstairs today, but am far from over on it. So I think I better go an find the laundry I did yesterday and get to folding it tonight.

He says he listens to people and indeed he seems to have to me as I've felt many years now, that we need to extend school education after high  school. Many of my ideas are from listening to people from all around the world. He's kind of added or subtracted some in things but the basic idea is still out there. Kids don' t get paid enough for college classes without some help just out of high school. He finally said, $15,000 and year is not easy to live on here. My social security checks last year were for several thousand dollars less. But I knew they'd be this way with retirement, and I've been planning for this for several years now...but I can't make it on rising utility rates, and expenses one has to have such as car insurance fee's. If they can get us seniors off those "fixed" expenses by income earned, I think they will have come al long way to helping us all. I go for now.

Good morning everyone. We have snow, snow and more snow, about 5 inches so far and it's still coming down. The road is shut so we're going nowhere on wheels anyway.

They do James, there is not a sign of it stopping and it's coming from the East so the hills are protecting you. Looks like a good 6 inches on top of the car now.

Afternoon James, it's an easy day here too. I've ventured out to take a couple of photos but that's about it, the snow plough has been up, but it's done little good. I'm supposed to be taking mum to the doctors and the supermarket tomorrow, but unless the car morphs into a 4 wheel drive overnight I don't hold out much hope.

Good evening, no snow here ,

Not had a very good day, we decided to get the bus to Taunton for a couple of hours, the Bus was 43 mins late arriving, we had just given up when it turned up. so we hopped on it, then went into a costa for Coffee at Taunton , everyone was talking and no one listening it was so noisy, we soon got out of there, we are not used to the noise.

We would sooner be out walking and having sandwiches on a bank , than all the noise from towns. so cant wait to get out walking again,

i suppose really we are to old grumps for town people.

Good morning, my teeth are super sensitve for some reason this morning...I wonder what's up now. Just had an Indonesia quake..but not an bad one. I stayed up last night and cleaned out the hall closet. I now have more room for my clothes. But I have the downstairs bookcase to dust as of yet. I listened to coast last night who was talking about an book called "Paper Clip" on the transfer of the German Scientist's over here after world war II and the ties they had and the luxury they lived in for thier knowledge. There seems to be an hint these days of some kind of UFO alein well known in the Pentagon arena. You don' t think they followed them over here from Germany...or maybe that's the problem they don't know if they were aleins to begin with. Then I heard an guy say on "Blue Book" that the alein encounters in it are nothing new and sited that Lovewell, Texas was having reports of them from the early 1950's and still do to this day...nothing new, they have been around for an lot longer then just when the UFO crazy was here some years ago. Tonight's show we switch over to Sacred mounds of the Native Americans and big skeleton bones of people. Iguess you know I'm not getting to much sleep these days. Sunny out there today so far and very warm. Unusual weather for us here. My neighbor is out there picking up the pine needles from her trees with twizzers...which would drive me bonkers to do it myself. She likes everythng pristine clean I guess you might know. At least the neighbors coming by will stop and talk to her most the time. Perhaps an way to get out of the house for an bit and some fresh air. I finished the beef stew I had made, and so far gained 5 pounds back..just seems like I can' t have much meat these days without gaining weight. Sore throat kind of also. Aw, heck, I'm going back to bed and start all over again this morning...talk to you all later on.
