Ron, I was so hungry by the time I made it there, I could ate your fingernails off. I enjoyed it...they know me now and how Ilike my food...they have an better chef these days also...Garden salad with dressing separately...grilled salmon..about 6 ozs, dinner roll, greilled veggies..and sugar free apple pie wiht coffee...I took my blood sugar before I left theaf house..it was 119...after I returned about 3 hours later..it was 156...it can be if you have eaten recent up to 180 and be normal....I've lost 6 pounds this last week. I chose the apple pie because of the cinnamon in it, it helps to balance your blood sugar...the pie was 299 calories per slice and I'd guess the meal about 400 calories...as I didn' t have the rice pilaf with cranberries in it. Randy always orders Noodle Alfredo, Joyce ordered an salad..and ate an plate of lettace all night long pretty much...and hubby had the regular Senior Salmon dinner with everything..he forgoes the salad for the Rice pilaf. I had an problem starting with the salad in that the onions needed cutting an bit better...and worked into do that. They did more talking this time..last time I did more talking. I told them when we met at the restruant that I 'd been grungy all day form working in the garage...but not to fear....I took an bath an soaped myself up with Yardley (London) Oatmeal and Almond soap..to just call me "Quaker Oats" for short if they wanted to. ..they laughed. Hearing device wasn't the best last night in hearing what was being said either....but I managed. Just ran into Norma Jean Estep..whater at bi-mart...we all went to school together..last time I saw Joyce, she was saying that her husband had died and she looked so devestated....she was losing her house...her step kids, everything by his first wife...he was an docotr/dentist...and she met him being his receptionist..so she lost her job also...she didn't know what she was going to do. Norma Jean, whose always had black hair...said in the store..you don' t know me do you right now.... and I didn't...she's an ash-blonde now. But she looks good just the same. both our mother's died of diabetes...when we were kids, dad's friends the "porters" bought an house and dad helped him hook it up on his land out in the country and they were the first renters...fresh out of the Kentucky hills. She was very "back hills type" and they helped her assimulate into the world out here....whoing her washing machines and dryers, so for...she worked all her life...they had four kids or five....but they have made it over the years... religion had an lot to do in thier lives. Norma Jean married at age 15...had an kid every year for an while...she married an Jehovah witness...whom she divorced later on..he got himself another younger woman supposedly. Joyce divorced her first husband also ...her sister's first husband's cousin...David Grota...who remarried an moved to Tailland(sp?)...both girls this was an big surprise hearing about. So goes for the morning so far, I tried walking once around the neighborhood...but have an other three rounds to go before I have my one walk in for today. An now an peach tree to plant also...so best get going for now. |
