Thanks too for the link, Ruth. Hadn't realised the number of places I'd been to that it reminded me of with both Bryce Canyon and Glacier National Parks my idea of heavan on earth and equally timeless in their beauty. Interesting also their choice of music with America The Beautiful written by Katherine Lee Bates on top of Pikes Peak, followed up with God Save The Queen. A sort of mini-geographical biography, in a sense.

Hi Paul:

Glad you liked it but heaven on earth is the British Isles!  Smile  No, America truly is America the beautiful!  I've only visited about 26 out of the 50 states.  As for the music, the second song is actually called "America."  We stole the music from "God Save the Queen," but the lyrics are:

My country tis of thee, sweet land of liberty

Of thee I sing. Land where my fathers died

Land of the pilgrims pride, from every mountainside

Let freedom ring.

But the music certainly does link the 2 great countries, doesn't it?

Thanks for jogging my memory Ruth; I'd forgotten all about that version. but, it did fit while they were covering the colonial states, as it happened.

if you can call it living

Why do you say that, Sue?   Amazing pictures, they look like so....adventurous ! :).  I bet you don't know what traffic jams are; if you want such a wide open space and escape the high density in my area, you need to get to the Alps ! Undecided

Two and a half hours west, two hours east, five hours north, ten hours south. Our closest towns for Doctors (specialists), and anything cultural worth seeing, with NOTHING but dessert in between.

Well maybe I exaggerate, but just a bit. There is one area about three hours from here I go that has Nevada's biggest inland waters, so I go bird watching there occasionally.

As you can see from the pictures, it is dry, brown place, I moved here from England so you can imagine the shock I went through. It took me a good seven years to really start to like it here, but now after sixteen years I am reconciled.

Oh and yes, I still have a strong English accent, you can ask POE and Ron.

I enjoyed it too, it's nice seeing where other people live. I've been all over Europe and as far as Asia but never been to the States......yet!.   I'm not sure I can eat those huge meals they give you over there lol or the 'sandwiches', they would do me for 3 meals I reckon. Surprised
