Friday night=sherry, followed by wine, whilst watching a DVD (tonight being "Hallam Foe": not a bad film, and a good performance from Jamie Bell). |

Sorry Phil. Yes that's what I mean by tweaked or tweaking. Obviously it's all a matter of preference, but I think some people do get carried away with changing the appearance of their photos. I often crop and change the brightness or contrast and maybe sharpen or soften a photo. If needed I will try and correct converging verticals on a building, but I never saturate a photo with colours and contrast. |

I don't tweak them a lot. But if you prefer Andrew's thats fine, its personal choice, its the same with art, what looks good to one doesn't to another. On a shot straight out of a camera do you think that captures everything your eye see's? a realistic picture? it doesn't, a lot is lost, the image can become bland and flat, but when you were there it looked fantastic!! I personally don't care if photos are photoshopped or not, as long as the picture looks good, surely thats what the idea of a photograph is about, (unless its a photo for legal purposes etc) But like i said, i don't over photoshop, unless i'm just playing, and even then the effects can be pretty good!! its just like painting! you have artistic licence!! i usually just increase saturation a little. The top clouds on the Ely one have just been 'burnt' a little, but believe me the view was pretty stunning when i took the shot! |
