LOL, Diana.  I'm picturing Paul having to get down to goose level for the shot.  Laughing

I'm imagining him submerged up to his ears in icy water with foliage on his head.

Well, I wasn't quite as low as the goose Ruth, nor up to my ears in icy water as I, thankfully, hadn't fallen in. However, the camera was half submerged quite safe in it's underwater housing. The water was a bit too murky to get the shot I was after---half above water; half below it----so the usable part of the image was the upper portion. While the geese, swans, and ducks prefered the water, about 50 yards off was totally frozen where the seagulls stayed, then flying around---as in the photo--to see what food might be about. But, I know a pond that connects to the Kennet and Avon Canal in Wiltshire that has clear water in it, so we shall persevere there to photpgraph the ducks both below and above the water.

Glad you enjoyed the photo Ruth and others too, and there's a 2nd image I've uploaded taken at the same time. My ploy to see the swans feeding underwater didn't quite come off, but I'll be back with Plan B ! Smile

Oh how much fun that sounds. And a water tight casing for you camera, sounds quite professional to me.

Can't wait to see your under and above shots when you get them.
