Thank you Sue and Diana - and everyone who commented on them. We met our friends at the wilddfowl centre on Monday (one day when I was a bit better). It was a lovely day out and there was a chick room where they were all cuddling up under a lamp. They were so lovely I spent ages looking at them!

I'm not recognizing it, Ruth. It looks like it could be in transition plumage, winter to summer or visa versa. It could be a exotic, non-digenouse bird brought in from overseas too.

Maybe Andy or Roy will know.
