It's a visit worthwhile. A great day out that will last the whole day. During early may there are lots of May celebration all over Cornwall. i.e. the "Obby Oss" in Padstow (May 1st) Picture by Ted van Onzen and the May Day Celebrations in St. Ives Picture by Ted van Onzen
But the Flora Dance is far-out the best. It amazes me al the efforts made by so many people from all ages. Young and old(er). |

Hope you have all caught up with me at Saltash, a village next to the Tamar Bridge linking Cornwall and DEVON. I looked up accommodation on POE and rather fancied staying tonight at one of these two for the night: An 18C barn converted into cottages on a working farm with stunning views over the river Tiddy, or China Fleet Country Club (Hotel) set in 180 acres of beautiful countryside! We will be leaving Cornwall early tomorrow morning to start a Whistle Stop Tour of DEVON. So photos, memories, suggestions, recommendations, etc., can all be added here on Monday 16 and Tuesday 17 August. I'm off now to work out my impossible 'virtual' itinerary for Tomorrow, must try to see as much as I can, lol. Do join me for a sumptious breakfast tomorrow morning |

Picture by Peter Evans A 3/4 of an hour drive away Is Clovely. Picture by Peter Evans With its steep narrow street, all deliveries have to be made by sled. A short distance away is Hartland Quay. A great place to visit,if only for the fantastic rock formations. Picture by Peter Evans Further north is Ilfracombe. Some very nice meals can be had here. With a modern theater and old harbour where you can take a trip round the coast. There is something for everyone. Picture by Peter Evans Edited by: Peter Evans at:15th August 2010 23:42 |
