At first glance there are so many incredible photos here it makes my heart race! I am doing personal reasearch with the intention of one day building my own cottage in the English style, complete with kitchen garden. I love "Tudor"and I am especially interested in cob. This website is so full, and being new to all things computer, I am a bit lost as to where to start. I would appreciate hearing from anyone with a special interest in cob, a knowledge of cob building, and/or cob pictures you are willing to share. I would love to see photos that show interiors as well as exteriors of cob cottages, (structural features, kichens, gardens ) ...and chat with cottage garden enthusiasts. All photos and/or information you share with me will be for my personal use only, to be stored in my computer files for easy reference, and design inspiration.. As an artist (...primarily painting/drawing/mixed media) who has had creative work stolen, I am very sensitive to copyright issues and will not abuse the priviledge of any info or images you share with me. In Canada, cob building is considered "alternative", and it is very difficult to get building permits. If ever in the future I were to share anything from my research, in order to proove the viability and safety of cob building, full credit would be given to all sources. In fact, sharing my sources would be essential to the credibility of my "evidence". I look forward to your inspiration, ideas, suggestions, refferals... all welcome to e-mail me; spiderosedreams@netscape.ca (NO SPAM PLEASE) Rose .

Sorry, I can't help with your request, but I would bet that a POE member will come up with the goods for you, sooner or later. |

I lived in Canada for 18 months in my younger days, where abouts are you? It's good to have you here, and I wish you all the best in your plans to build your little cottage. |

Hello Sue, I am so glad you decided to jump in! I am very new to forums and e-mail groups and all that myself. I just got my computer and internet access December 2007. I have many interests and thus have subscribed to a variety of sites with forums e.t.c. On some of them folks are very freindly, on others i am completely ignored, even when e-mailing a specific person directly. I feel a little like I am back in Elementary school waiting to get picked to play ball! What are your areas of interest in terms of this site? ...travel? ...photography? ...or? I love photography in general but especially photos of those places I dream of visiting, also I am an enthusiastic gardener and nature lover. Rose |
