frosty morning
"If you had called this "Sun flare" it would have suited your picture better, because that is what is in focus. It is in fact an excellent flare!! If you wanted frost then you need to focus on that, I suspect you were trying to do what we all do at some stage, trying to get too much in the pic!! Good luck and I look forward to seeing more of your pics, just keep practicing!" - cathyml(19th August 2011)

my garden.
"I notice that in all three pictures you have the light coming directly at your camera. Although this is definitely a tool used by photographers, I would suggest that using the light from left or right would work in your favour at this stage! The others have mentioned focus, also an important factor! Maybe try for a less is more approach at the moment. See what you can do with just one flower!" - cathyml(19th August 2011)

my garden.
"I tend to agree with the above comments. I found my eye was drawn immediately to the leaf with the three holes in it! Also be aware of where your light is coming from. In this instance the light is behind the subject and straight at your camera, this tends to give you a silhouette effect, I don't think that is what you were aiming for, was it? Like everything else you start new, it is all just practice!" - cathyml(19th August 2011)
