frosty morning
"Not really sure what this is, frost on a window sill?? Taken on a mobile phone. Like the idea of the frost but to get a really good photo in this instance, against the light, through glass by the looks of it is far from easy. But the main thing is you have tried, so well done for that. I keep saying this but get out and take pictures, you will learn more by doing that than reading the manual, although you should do that as well ofcourse. " - Dave John(19th August 2011)

my garden.
"Again very good focus on the middle flower but the whole image is very cluttered. Sloping horizons rooftop)should be avoided unless you are trying for something particularly quirky. In this instance i feel you have gone for a bloom that is the middle of the shrub! Try going for something easier to get at while you get used to the camera. This image is far more cluttered than the yellow bloom and very difficult to view. But DO NOT WORRY you will get the hang of it. Take pictures, drop them onto your computer and be your own harshest critic. I'm sure you will get a lot more feedback when others come on line later. But apart from the photos get back on the thread you started and tell us a bit more about yourself. This is a great community" - Dave John(19th August 2011)

my garden.
"Hi Darren, if you want to do closeups, as Karen says concentrate on 1 bloom, your focus here seems to be fairly good but there is no definite subject for the eye to fall on. But the makings of a good photo are there. Maybe try getting used to the camera with more general shots, landscapes, wider pictures of your garden. But whatever you do keep on pressing that button, or I should say squeezing that button. Get out and take pictures and you will learn. " - Dave John(19th August 2011)

my garden.
"The hairs on the stems really stand out, try to focus on one flower and get that crisp, the others will go fuzzy and soft but that adds to it,instead of getting too close try from a little further away and zoom slightly even if you use macro...I'm no expert but it seems to work for me:)" - Karen Lee(19th August 2011)
