Had several tornado warnings tonight, but nothing developed in my area other than a water main break and threats of cloudy water. The street it occurred on, though, was washed out July 4th from a bad storm and some people lost their homes. They were still working on that when the main break happened today. |

But, yesterday, BBC Radio Berkshire forecast for Thursday 40mm of rain. When the presenter Phil Kennedy asked, What's that in inches ?, no one knew; they concluded it was around 1/4 inch. While the sports presenter was reading his bit---and he had no idea what 40mm was----Phil clearly was looking it up and came back with 1 1/2" which I thought anyone would have known. Well, 1 1/2" of rain to me sounds like someone's going to get floods. I shall check Thurs. night and see what West Berkshire really got. |
