This time of year it's hot and sunny - too sunny. Summer rains usually begin about the 2nd week in July and cool it off some. But our summer rains typically come in the form of afternoon and evening thunderstorms, which can be real gully washers, often with hail and damaging winds. |

We've had 3 or 4 days of very nice weather. Sunny, but temps only in the 70s and low humidity. Supposed to stay that way for a few days and then back up again. It's not too bad when you get a few days break in between the heatwaves. |

It was 96º F yesterday and today, well they don't think it will get much above 70º F. Next week, July 4th, 105 F. All over the place. Still, we had rain with our lightening, so hopefully no fires. |

It was a thousand feet high and about 50 miles wide. By the time it got to my house, it was about 9 PM, whilst I was on here last night. I just happened to look out the window and it was dark out, but the sky was bright orange - really weird. This morning there was a fine layer, like tan talcum powder over everything. Here's a time-lapsed video of it. |
