You must have all the sun over your way James, it's been overcast all day here, it's cold though.

Its absolutely snowing like crazy right now. Hard to see the end of our very little garden.

The freeze is coming in tomorrow, so we shovel throughout the day or else we will have frozen snow laying around for months. Then it snows on top of that, so on and so forth.

Really, if you don't like snow (and I don't) you shouldn't live here. I'd take your rainy day anytime, I think.

Winds in Scotland recorded at 142 mph earlier today!

Currently 20,000 homes without power and a lorry driver has been killed. Our thoughts and condolences to the family and friends.

A massive storm surge is expected and drivers are being told to stay away from south Perthshire, among other places.

Take care up there and lets hope the damage is minimal, although that appears to be unlikely.

80,000 now without power in Scotland and Northern Ireland is also suffering with about 6,500 homes without power also.

Severe disruption expected to continue and concerns that it will be far worse than ever experienced before.

Travel advice is 'Stay at home'

Very windy here but the rain has blown over. Lots of tree branches on the roads, the last of the leaves have vanished off the trees. We've had a large pot plant blow over and the pot has smashed, but other than that all seems OK.

15º F (- 10º C)  right now.  Better than yesterdays 9º F but not by much.

It sure is a winter wonderland outside, and probably wonl't melt now until well into spring.

Seems the worst will be about 8pm tonight, with high tide.

Fingers crossed now for all concerned in the north east of the UK.

Sounds as if the Norfolk area and around Kent are in for the tidal surge around 10pm Ron. It peaked on the Yorkshire coast a little earlier, but they are now worried about the next high tide tomorrow morning. The seafronts of Whitby and Scarborough were under water on the evening news.

Peggy and John are on the coast - fingers crossed for them.
